A vertical-axis wind turbine system includes a novel wind turbine having helical shaped blades with serrated edges that exhibit unique airfoil characteristics. Such innovative designs of blades improve the efficiency of the turbine. Airfoil characteristics of such blades make it effective at lower wind speeds than conventional wind turbines.
