1. An apparatus for holding an object, comprising: a surface;a first elongated arm, comprising: a first end that is pivotally mounted to the surface;a second end that moves through a range of motion above the surface between a first position and a second position as the first end pivots; anda body having a top surface and a lower portion below the top surface with a first arm channel cut into an internally facing side of the lower portion;a second elongated arm opposedly facing the first elongated arm, comprising: a first end mounted to the surface proximate the first end of the first elongated arm;a second end; anda body having a top surface and a lower portion below the top surface with a second arm channel cut into an internally facing side of the lower portion;a biasing component operably connected to the first elongated arm for biasing the first arm towards the second arm; andan opening between the second end of the first elongated arm and the second end of the second elongated arm, wherein, a size of the opening adjusts as the first elongated arm pivots to accommodate objects of different sizes received therethrough;an area of the surface between the first elongated arm and the second elongated arm that varies in size depending on an object received and including an area size that is greater than an area measured when the first elongated arm is in the first position; andwherein, the biasing component causes the first arm to exert pressure against the object received between the first elongated arm and the second elongated arm; andfurther wherein, the first end of the first elongated arm pivots such that the first end of the first arm does not enter into the area of the surface measured when the second end of the first elongated arm moves between the first position and the second position. 2. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the surface of at least one of the channels in each of the first and second arms is sloped between the internally facing side and the bottom surface of the arm. 3. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein at least one of the first arm and the second arm is arcuately shaped. 4. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the first arm and second arm are configured to form a substantially circular shape with an opening between the first arm and the second arm. 5. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein an ash tray formed with a substantially circular protrusion from a base portion is inserted into the apparatus such that the substantially circular protrusion engages the first arm channel and the second arm channel. 6. The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising an adapter affixed to a bottom side of the surface, the adapter configured to fit within a recessed space. 7. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the biasing component further comprises: a first arm post affixed to the first end of the first arm; anda spring affixed to the first arm post. 8. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the opening between the second end of the first arm and the second end of the second arm when the first arm is in a first position is less than the diameter of an object received, and further wherein upon the object being received into an opening between the second end of the first arm and the second end of the second arm, the second end of the first arm is forced outwardly into a second position allowing the object to fit between the first arm and the second arm. 9. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the second end of the first arm and the second end of the second arm are rounded, and further wherein when the object is received between the second end of the first arm and the second end of the second arm, the first arm moves outwardly to a second position to receive the object. 10. The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising an opening between the first arm and the second arm through which a portion of an object freely extends when the object is positioned between the first and second arms. 11. A method for holding an object, comprising: providing a surface;affixing a first elongated arm to the surface, the first elongated arm comprising: a first end that is pivotally mounted to the surface;a second end that moves through a range of motion above the surface between a first position and a second position; anda body having a top surface and a lower portion below the top surface with a first arm channel cut into an internally facing side of the lower portion;affixing a second elongated arm to the surface opposedly facing the first elongated arm, the second arm comprising: a first end mounted to the surface proximate the first end of the first elongated arm;a second end; anda body having a top surface and a lower portion below the top surface with a second arm channel cut into an internally facing side of the lower portion;biasing the first elongated arm towards the second elongated arm;forming an opening between the second end of the first elongated arm and the second end of the second elongated arm, wherein a size of the opening adjusts as the first elongated arm pivots to accommodate objects of different sizes received therethrough;varying an area size of the surface between the first elongated arm and the second elongated arm that depends on an object received and including an area size that is greater than an area measured when the first elongated arm is in the first position;receiving an object inserted between the first elongated arm and the second elongated arm; andbiasing the first elongated arm to exert pressure against an object received between the first elongated arm and the second elongated arm; andwherein, the first end of the first elongated arm pivots such that the first end of the first arm does not enter into the area of the surface measured when the second end of the first elongated arm moves between the first position and the second position. 12. The method of claim 11 wherein the surface of at least one of the channels in each of the first and second arms is sloped between the internally facing side and the bottom surface of the arm. 13. The method of claim 11 wherein at least one of the first arm and the second arm is arcuately shaped. 14. The method of claim 11 wherein the first arm and second arm are configured to form a substantially circular shape with an opening between the first arm and the second arm. 15. The method of claim 11 wherein an ash tray formed with a substantially circular protrusion from a base portion is inserted into the apparatus such that the substantially circular protrusion engages the first arm channel and the second arm channel. 16. The method of claim 11 further comprising affixing an adapter to a bottom side of the surface, the adapter configured to fit within a recessed space. 17. The method of claim 11 wherein the biasing component further comprises: a first arm post affixed to the first end of the first arm; anda spring affixed to the first arm post. 18. The method of claim 11 wherein the opening between the second end of the first arm and the second end of the second arm when the first arm is in a first position is less than the diameter of an object received, and further wherein upon the object being inserted into an opening between the second end of the first arm and the second end of the second arm, the second end of the first arm is forced outwardly into a second position allowing the object to fit between the first arm and the second arm. 19. The method of claim 11 wherein the second end of the first arm and the second end of the second arm are rounded, and further wherein when an object is inserted between the second end of the first arm and the second end of the second arm, the first arm moves away from the second arm to receive the object. 20. The method of claim 11 wherein an opening is formed between the first arm and the second arm through which a portion of an object freely extends between the top surface of the first arm and the top surface of the second arm when the object is positioned between the first and second arms.
