An apparatus for enlarging a curvilinear void created in a body structure comprising: a handle having a handle spring located therein;a drill shaft extending from a distal end of the handle, the drill shaft having a flexible portion at a distal end of the drill shaft;a pivotable reaming blade located at a distal end of the flexible portion of the drill shaft;a band coupled at a distal end proximate to the reaming blade and at a proximal end to a compression spring that is different from the handle spring;a feed screw; anda torqued tube configured to couple with the reaming blade for pivotably adjusting the reaming blade with respect to a central elongate axis of the shaft, wherein the torqued tube is configured to go through the drill shaft and the feed screw,wherein the torqued tube is axially constrained in the drill shaft and advances with a pitch of the feed screw, andwherein, in an initial configuration, the flexible portion of the drill shaft is pretensioned to have a predetermined amount of flex. 5. The apparatus of claim 4, wherein the reaming blade is adapted to pivot from a first position to a second position. 6. The apparatus of claim 5, wherein the reaming blade pivots between the first position and the second position through simultaneous pivoting and rotation of the reaming blade. 7. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein the simultaneous pivoting and rotation of the reaming blade occurs without curvilinear translation of the blade. 8. The apparatus of claim 7, wherein simultaneous pivoting and rotation of the reaming blade is adapted to form a substantially semi-spherically void in the bony structure. 9. The apparatus of claim 4, wherein the reaming blade is adapted to form the curvilinear void by simultanious rotation and curvilinear translation of the reaming blade. 10. The apparatus of claim 4, wherein the flexible drill shaft is adapted to form a curvature at a distal end thereof. 11. The apparatus of claim 4, wherein a pivoting means comprises a cable coupled at a distal end to the reaming blade. 12. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the cable is coupled at a proximal end to the handle spring. 13. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein the compression spring allows the reaming blade to elastically deflect from a selected pivot angle. 14. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the cable is coupled at a proximal end to a blade-opening sleeve proximate the handle. 15. The apparatus of claim 14, wherein actuation of the blade-opening sleeve pivots the reaming blade about a pivot point. 16. The apparatus of claim 14, wherein actuation of the blade-opening sleeve comprises rotation of the blade-opening sleeve about a threaded element. 17. An apparatus for creating and enlarging a curvilinear void in a bony structure comprising: a handle having a handle spring; anda drill shaft extending from a distal end of the handle, the drill shaft having a flexible portion at a distal end of the drill shaft;a pivotable and elastically deflectable blade located at a distal end of the flexible portion of the drill shaft;a feed screw;a compression spring, wherein the compression spring is positioned distally from the feed screw and nearer to the distal end of the drill shaft;a band coupled at a distal end proximate to the blade and at a proximal end to the compression spring that is different from the handle spring;a torqued tube configured to couple with the deflectable blade for providing rotation of the deflectable blade, wherein the torqued tube is configured to go through the drill shaft and the feed screw, anda circumferentially partially slotted outer tube, wherein the slots enable the distal end of the drill shaft to bend in a predetermined direction. 18. The apparatus of claim 17, further comprising pivoting the blade from a pivot point. 19. The apparatus of claim 18, further comprises a cable coupled at a distal end to the blade and at a proximal end to the handle spring. 20. The apparatus of claim 19, wherein the handle spring allows the blade to elastically deflect from a selected pivot angle. 21. The apparatus of claim 18, further comprises a blade-opening sleeve proximate the handle and coupled to the blade by a cable. 22. The apparatus of claim 21, wherein actuation of the blade-opening sleeve pivots the blade about the pivot point. 23. The apparatus of claim 17, wherein the blade pivots between a first position and a second position through simultaneous pivoting and rotation of the blade. 24. The apparatus of claim 23, wherein the simultaneous pivoting and rotation of the blade occurs without curvilinear translation of the blade. 25. The apparatus of claim 24, wherein simultaneous pivoting and rotation of the blade is adapted to form a substantially semi-spherical void in the bony structure.
