The message is transmitted to the communication device via, on, or over, a communication network and the message is transmitted to the communication device independently of any processing of the transaction by a central transaction authorization processing computer.

The apparatus of claim 2, wherein the transaction authorization processing computer is a central transaction authorization processing computer. 4. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein the apparatus receives a transaction response message, wherein the transaction response message is transmitted from the transaction authorization processing computer, and further wherein the transaction response message contains information for authorizing, allowing, or disallowing, the transaction. 5. The apparatus of claim 2, further comprising: a receiver; anda display device;wherein the receiver receives a transaction response message, wherein the transaction response message is transmitted from the transaction authorization processing computer, wherein the transaction response message contains a file photograph of the individual account holder, and further wherein the display device displays the file photograph. 6. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising: a receiver, wherein the receiver receives a transaction response message transmitted from the communication device, wherein the transaction response message contains information for authorizing, allowing, or disallowing, the transaction. 7. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising: a microphone for obtaining a voice sample from the individual, wherein the apparatus processes information contained in the voice sample and generates a voice sample message containing information regarding a voice print corresponding to the voice sample, and further wherein the apparatus transmits the voice sample message to the transaction authorization processing computer. 8. The apparatus of claim 7, wherein the transaction authorization processing computer compares the voice print with a file voice print associated with the individual account holder, and further wherein the transaction authorization processing computer generates a voice sample response message containing information regarding whether or not the voice print matches the file voice print of the individual account holder, and further wherein the voice sample response message is transmitted to the apparatus. 9. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the transaction is a credit card transaction. 10. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the transaction is a charge card transaction. 11. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the transaction is a debit card transaction. 12. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the transaction is a “smart” card transaction or a currency card transaction. 13. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the transaction is a checking account transaction, a savings account transaction, or an automated teller machine transaction. 14. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising: a receiver, wherein the receiver receives the transaction information and the photograph or the picture. 15. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the transaction is a transaction on or involving a cellular telephone account. 16. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the transaction is a transaction on or involving a wireless telephone account. 17. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the transaction is a transaction involving a cellular telephone or a wireless telephone. 18. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the communication device is a cellular telephone or a personal digital assistant. 19. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the communication device is a personal computer. 20. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the communication device is a television or an interactive television. 21. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the notification message or the photograph or the picture is transmitted to the communication device after the transaction begins, before the transaction is completed, or after the transaction begins and before the transaction is completed. 22. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the notification message or the photograph or the picture is transmitted to the communication device via, on, or over, the Internet or the World Wide Web. 23. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the transaction authorization processing computer generates a second transaction message containing information regarding the transaction and the photograph or the picture, and further wherein the transaction authorization processing computer transmits the second transaction message to the communication device. 24. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the apparatus generates a periodic transaction record, wherein the periodic transaction record contains information regarding the transaction or a plurality of transactions occurring on or involving the account for or during a time period, and further wherein the apparatus transmits the periodic transaction record to the communication device or to a second communication device associated with the individual account holder. 25. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the photograph or the picture is transmitted along with the notification message. 26. An apparatus, comprising: a camera for obtaining a photograph or a picture of an individual involved in a transaction on an account;an input device for inputting transaction information regarding the transaction or a receiver for receiving transaction information regarding the transaction;a processing device, wherein the processing device processes information regarding the transaction information and generates a message, wherein the message contains information regarding the transaction; anda transmitter, wherein the transmitter transmits the message to a communication device associated with an individual account holder, and further wherein the message is transmitted to the communication device independently of any processing of the transaction by a transaction authorization processing computer,wherein the apparatus transmits the photograph or the picture to the communication device, wherein the photograph or the picture is transmitted to the communication device independently of any processing of the transaction by the transaction authorization processing computer. 27. The computer-implemented method of claim 26, wherein the photograph or the picture is transmitted along with the message. 28. The apparatus of claim 26, wherein the apparatus generates a transaction message containing information regarding the transaction, and further wherein the apparatus transmits the transaction message and the photograph or the picture to the transaction authorization processing computer. 29. The apparatus of claim 26, wherein the apparatus receives a transaction response message, wherein the transaction response message is transmitted from the transaction authorization processing computer, and further wherein the transaction response message contains information for authorizing, allowing, or disallowing, the transaction. 30. A computer-implemented method, comprising: inputting, via an input device, transaction information regarding a transaction on an account involving an individual;obtaining a photograph or a picture of the individual with a camera;processing, with a processing device or with a computer, information regarding the transaction;generating, with the processing device or with the computer, a notification message, wherein the notification message contains information regarding the transaction;transmitting, with or from a transmitter or with or from the computer, the notification message to a communication device associated with an individual account holder, wherein the notification message is transmitted to the communication device independently of any processing of the transaction by a transaction authorization processing computer; andtransmitting the photograph or the picture to the communication device independently of any processing of the transaction by the transaction authorization processing computer. 31. The computer-implemented method of claim 30, further comprising: generating, with the processing device or with the computer, a transaction message, wherein the transaction message contains information regarding the transaction; andtransmitting the transaction message or the transaction message and the photograph or the picture to the transaction authorization processing computer. 32. The computer-implemented method of claim 31, further comprising: receiving a transaction response message transmitted from the transaction authorization processing computer, wherein the transaction response message contains information for authorizing, allowing, or disallowing, the transaction. 33. The computer-implemented method of claim 31, further comprising: receiving, with a receiver or with the computer, a transaction response message, wherein the transaction response message is transmitted from the transaction authorization processing computer, and further wherein the transaction response message contains a file photograph of the individual account holder; anddisplaying, on or via a display device, the file photograph. 34. The computer-implemented method of claim 30, further comprising: receiving, with a receiver or with the computer, a transaction response message transmitted from the communication device, wherein the transaction response message contains information for authorizing, allowing, or disallowing, the transaction. 35. The computer-implemented method of claim 30, further comprising: obtaining, with a microphone, a voice sample from the individual;processing information contained in the voice sample;generating a voice sample message containing information regarding a voice print corresponding to the voice sample; andtransmitting the voice sample message to the transaction authorization processing computer. 36. The computer-implemented method of claim 35, further comprising: comparing, with or using the transaction authorization processing computer, the voice print with a file voice print associated with the individual account holder;generating, with or using the transaction authorization processing computer, a voice sample response message containing information regarding whether or not the voice print matches the file voice print of the individual account holder; andtransmitting the voice sample response message to the apparatus. 37. The computer-implemented method of claim 30, wherein the transaction is a credit card transaction. 38. The computer-implemented method of claim 30, wherein the transaction is a charge card transaction. 39. The computer-implemented method of claim 30, wherein the transaction is a debit card transaction. 40. The computer-implemented method of claim 30, wherein the transaction is a checking account transaction, a savings account transaction, or an automated teller machine transaction. 41. The computer-implemented method of claim 30, wherein the transaction is a transaction on or involving a cellular telephone account, a transaction on or involving a wireless telephone account, or a transaction involving a cellular telephone or a wireless telephone. 42. The computer-implemented method of claim 30, wherein the communication device is a cellular telephone or a personal digital assistant. 43. The computer-implemented method of claim 30, wherein the notification message or the photograph or the picture is transmitted to the communication device after the transaction begins, before the transaction is completed, or after the transaction begins and before the transaction is completed. 44. The computer-implemented method of claim 30, further comprising: generating a periodic transaction record, wherein the periodic transaction record contains information regarding a transaction or a plurality of transactions occurring on or involving the account for or during a time period; andtransmitting the periodic transaction record to the communication device or to a second communication device associated with the individual account holder. 45. The computer-implemented method of claim 30, wherein the photograph or the picture is transmitted along with the notification message. 46. A transaction security apparatus, comprising: an input device for inputting transaction information regarding a transaction on an account involving an individual;a camera or a video recording device for obtaining a video clip of the individual;a processing device, wherein the processing device processes information regarding the transaction information and generates a message, wherein the message contains information regarding the transaction; anda transmitter, wherein the transmitter transmits the message to a communication device associated with an individual account holder, and further wherein the message is transmitted to the communication device independently of any processing of the transaction by a transaction authorization processing computer,wherein the apparatus transmits the video clip to the communication device independently of any processing of the transaction by the transaction authorization processing computer. 47. The apparatus of claim 46, wherein the apparatus transmits the message or the message and the video clip to the transaction authorization processing computer. 48. The apparatus of claim 46, wherein the apparatus receives a second message, wherein the second message is transmitted from the transaction authorization processing computer, and further wherein the second message contains information for authorizing, allowing, or disallowing, the transaction. 49. The apparatus of claim 46, further comprising: a receiver; anda display device;wherein the receiver receives a second message, wherein the second message is transmitted from the transaction authorization processing computer, wherein the second message contains a file photograph of the individual account holder, and further wherein the display device displays the file photograph. 50. The apparatus of claim 46, further comprising: a receiver, wherein the receiver receives a second message from the communication device, wherein the second message contains information for authorizing, allowing, or disallowing, the transaction. 51. The apparatus of claim 46, further comprising: a microphone for obtaining a voice sample from the individual, wherein the apparatus processes information contained in the voice sample and generates a second message containing information regarding a voice print corresponding to the voice sample, and further wherein the apparatus transmits the second message to the transaction authorization processing computer. 52. The apparatus of claim 51, wherein the transaction authorization processing computer compares the voice print with a file voice print associated with the individual account holder, and further wherein the transaction authorization processing computer generates a third message containing information regarding whether or not the voice print matches the file voice print of the individual account holder, and further wherein the third message is transmitted to the apparatus. 53. The apparatus of claim 46, wherein the message or the video clip is transmitted to the communication device after the transaction begins, before the transaction is completed, or after the transaction begins and before the transaction is completed. 54. The apparatus of claim 46, wherein the transaction authorization processing computer generates a second message containing information regarding the transaction information and a file photograph of the account holder, and further wherein the transaction authorization processing computer transmits the second message to the communication device. 55. The apparatus of claim 46, wherein the video clip is transmitted along with the message. 56. A computer-implemented transaction security method, comprising: inputting, via an input device, transaction information regarding a transaction on an account involving an individual;obtaining a video clip of the individual with a camera or a video recording device;processing, with a processing device or with a computer, information regarding the transaction;generating, with the processing device or with the computer, a notification message, wherein the message contains information regarding the transaction;transmitting the notification message, from a transmitter or from the computer, to a communication device associated with an individual account holder, wherein the notification message is transmitted to the communication device independently of any processing of the transaction by a transaction authorization processing computer; andtransmitting the video clip to the communication device independently of any processing of the transaction by the transaction authorization processing computer. 57. The computer-implemented transaction security method of claim 56, wherein the notification message or the video clip is transmitted to the communication device after the transaction begins, before the transaction is completed, or after the transaction begins and before the transaction is completed. 58. The computer-implemented method of claim 56, further comprising: transmitting a transaction message or the transaction message and the video clip to the transaction authorization processing computer; andreceiving a transaction response message transmitted from the transaction authorization processing computer, wherein the transaction response message contains information for authorizing, allowing, or disallowing, the transaction. 59. The computer-implemented method of claim 56, further comprising: receiving a transaction response message transmitted from the transaction authorization processing computer, wherein the transaction response message contains a file photograph of the individual account holder; anddisplaying, via a display device, the file photograph. 60. The apparatus of claim 56, wherein the video clip is transmitted along with the notification message. 61. An apparatus, comprising: a camera for obtaining a photograph or a picture of an individual involved in a transaction on an account;an input device for inputting or entering, or a receiver for receiving, information regarding the transaction;a processing device for processing the information regarding the transaction, wherein the processing device is adapted for generating a notification message containing information regarding the transaction; anda transmitter for transmitting the notification message to a communication device associated with an individual account holder independently of any processing of the transaction by a transaction authorization processing computer,wherein the transmitter or the apparatus is adapted to transmit the photograph or the picture to the communication device independently of any processing of the transaction by the transaction authorization processing computer. 62. An apparatus, comprising: a camera or a video recording device for obtaining a photograph, a picture, or a video clip, of an individual involved in a transaction on an account;a microphone or an audio recording device for obtaining an audio clip of the individual;an input device for inputting or entering, or a receiver for receiving, information regarding the transaction;a processing device for processing the information regarding the transaction, wherein the processing device is adapted for generating a notification message containing information regarding the transaction; anda transmitter for transmitting the notification message to a communication device associated with an individual account holder independently of any processing of the transaction by a transaction authorization processing computer,wherein the transmitter or the apparatus is adapted to transmit the photograph, the picture, or the video clip, and is adapted to transmit the audio clip, to the communication device independently of any processing of the transaction by the transaction authorization processing computer. 63. The apparatus of claim 62, wherein the apparatus is adapted to transmit the photograph, the picture, or the video clip, and to transmit the audio clip, along with the notification message.
