An absorbent article having a body-facing side and a garment-facing side generally comprises a chassis, a liquid permeable bodyside liner, an absorbent structure, a front bodyside waist elastic member, a rear bodyside waist elastic member, a front garment-side waist elastic member, and a rear garment-side waist elastic member. The chassis has a front waist region, a back waist region, and a crotch region extending between the front waist region and the back waist region. The front and rear bodyside waist elastic members are disposed on the body-facing side of the absorbent article, and the front and rear garment-side waist elastic members are disposed on the garment-facing side of the absorbent article. At least one of the garment-side waist elastic members and the bodyside waist elastic members are configured to fully extend around a waist opening of the absorbent article when the absorbent article is in the wear configuration.

The absorbent article as set forth in claim 1 wherein the front and rear garment-side waist elastic members are attached to the absorbent article along the first waist end and the second waist end, respectively. 3. The absorbent article as set forth in claim 1 wherein the front region and the back region each include laterally opposing outer edges, the front and rear garment-side waist elastic members including laterally opposing side edges substantially aligned with the outer edges of the front and back regions, respectively. 4. The absorbent article as set forth in claim 1 wherein the garment-side waist elastic members are configured to be permanently bonded to one another along a side seam of the absorbent article. 5. The absorbent article as set forth in claim 1 wherein the garment-side waist elastic members are configured to be refastenably bonded to one another along a side seam of the absorbent article. 6. The absorbent article as set forth in claim 1 wherein at least one bodyside waist elastic member is interposed between the absorbent structure and the chassis. 7. The absorbent article as set forth in claim 1 wherein the garment-side waist elastic members have a first modulus of elasticity and the bodyside waist elastic members have a second modulus of elasticity different than the first modulus of elasticity. 8. The absorbent article as set forth in claim 1 wherein at least one of the garment-side waist elastic members and the bodyside waist elastic members are bonded to the chassis by adhesive. 9. An absorbent article having a body-facing side and a garment-facing side, the absorbent article comprising: a chassis having a front waist region, a back waist region, and a crotch region extending between the front waist region and the back waist region, the front waist region having a first waist end, the back waist region having a second waist end, the first and second waist ends defining a waist opening of the absorbent article when the absorbent article is in a wear configuration;a liquid permeable bodyside liner;an absorbent structure interposed between the chassis and the bodyside liner;a front bodyside waist elastic member disposed on the body-facing side of the absorbent article within the front waist region;a rear bodyside waist elastic member disposed on the body-facing side of the absorbent article within the back waist region;a front garment-side waist elastic member disposed on the garment-facing side of the absorbent article within the front waist region; anda rear garment-side waist elastic member disposed on the garment-facing side of the absorbent article within the back waist region, at least one of the garment-side waist elastic members and the bodyside waist elastic members configured to fully extend around the waist opening when the absorbent article is in the wear configuration;wherein the front and rear bodyside waist elastic members are attached to the absorbent article along the first waist end and the second waist end, respectively. 10. The absorbent article as set forth in claim 9 wherein the front and rear garment-side waist elastic members are attached to the absorbent article along the first waist end and the second waist end, respectively. 11. The absorbent article as set forth in claim 9 wherein the front region and the back region each include laterally opposing outer edges, the front and rear garment-side waist elastic members including laterally opposing side edges substantially aligned with the outer edges of the front and back regions, respectively. 12. The absorbent article as set forth in claim 9 wherein the garment-side waist elastic members are configured to be permanently bonded to one another along a side seam of the absorbent article. 13. The absorbent article as set forth in claim 9 wherein the garment-side waist elastic members are configured to be refastenably bonded to one another along a side seam of the absorbent article. 14. The absorbent article as set forth in claim 9 wherein the garment-side waist elastic members have a first modulus of elasticity and the bodyside waist elastic members have a second modulus of elasticity different than the first modulus of elasticity. 15. An absorbent article having a body-facing side and a garment-facing side, the absorbent article comprising: a chassis having a front waist region, a back waist region, and a crotch region extending between the front waist region and the back waist region, the front waist region having a first waist end, the back waist region having a second waist end, the first and second waist ends defining a waist opening of the absorbent article when the absorbent article is in a wear configuration;a liquid permeable bodyside liner;an absorbent structure interposed between the chassis and the bodyside liner;a front bodyside waist elastic member disposed on the body-facing side of the absorbent article within the front waist region;a rear bodyside waist elastic member disposed on the body-facing side of the absorbent article within the back waist region;a front garment-side waist elastic member disposed on the garment-facing side of the absorbent article within the front waist region; anda rear garment-side waist elastic member disposed on the garment-facing side of the absorbent article within the back waist region, at least one of the garment-side waist elastic members and the bodyside waist elastic members configured to fully extend around the waist opening when the absorbent article is in the wear configuration;wherein each of the waist elastic members includes a top edge and an opposing bottom edge, the top edge of the garment-side waist elastic members being substantially aligned with the top edge of the bodyside waist elastic members. 16. The absorbent article as set forth in claim 16 wherein the front and rear garment-side waist elastic members are attached to the absorbent article along the first waist end and the second waist end, respectively. 18. The absorbent article as set forth in claim 16 wherein the front region and the back region each include laterally opposing outer edges, the front and rear garment-side waist elastic members including laterally opposing side edges substantially aligned with the outer edges of the front and back regions, respectively. 19. The absorbent article as set forth in claim 16 wherein the garment-side waist elastic members are configured to be permanently bonded to one another along a side seam of the absorbent article. 20. The absorbent article as set forth in claim 22 wherein the front region and the back region each include laterally opposing outer edges, the front and rear garment-side waist elastic members including laterally opposing side edges substantially aligned with the outer edges of the front and back regions, respectively. 25. The absorbent article as set forth in claim 22 wherein the garment-side waist elastic members are configured to be permanently bonded to one another along a side seam of the absorbent article. 26.
