A database is populated with the information from the first reporting source and the information from the second reporting source such that information from the first reporting source and information from the second reporting source can be collected from the database. A computer system, accessing the database, generates an asset information report comprising at least a portion of information from the first reporting source and at least a portion of information from the second reporting source.

The method of claim 2 wherein said asset information report further comprises: selectively parsing information from said first reporting source and information from said second reporting source into said asset information report. 9. The method of claim 2 further comprising: representing said asset information report in a graphic user interface (GUI). 10. The method of claim 2 further comprising: automatically assigning said asset to an asset column of said asset information report. 11. The method of claim 2 further comprising: automatically providing a map image as a portion of said asset information report. 12. The method of claim 11 further comprising: providing a user modifiable geo-fence on a portion of said map image, said geo-fence for providing a selectable boundary on said map image. 13. The method of claim 1 further comprising: automatically providing an icon for said asset on said database, wherein said icon is based on at least one asset characteristic received from at least one of said first reporting source and said second reporting source. 14. The method of claim 2 further comprising: automatically assigning said first reporting source and said second reporting source to a reporting source column of said asset information report. 15. The method of claim 1 further comprising: automatically providing an icon for said first reporting source and said second reporting source on said database, wherein said icon is based on at least one characteristic of said first reporting source and said second reporting source. 16. The method of claim 1 wherein said information from said first reporting source and said information from said second reporting source further comprises: providing real-time location and operation monitoring capabilities for said asset to said database. 17. The method of claim 1 wherein said information from said first reporting source and said information from said second reporting source further comprises: providing near real-time location and operation monitoring capabilities for said asset to said database. 18. The method of claim 1 wherein said first reporting source and said second reporting source are selected from one of the group of sources consisting of: an asset mountable/detachable device, a video device, a mobile phone, a personal digital assistant, a portable computing device, a radio frequency identifier, a global navigation satellite system (GNSS), and human intelligence (HumInt). 19. The method of claim 6 wherein said asset operation information is selected from one of the group of operation information sources consisting of: J-bus, asset processor, diagnostic evaluator, engine microprocessor, mileage indicator, speedometer, tachometer, oil pressure indicator, wheel pressure indicator, hydraulic indicator, and engine time. 20. The method of claim 2 further comprising: providing a grouping capability for grouping said first reporting source and said second reporting source into at least one group on said asset information report. 21. The method of claim 20 wherein said grouping of said first reporting source and said second reporting source is selected from the grouping methods consisting of: location of said first reporting source and said second reporting source, type of said first reporting source and said second reporting source, assigned area of said first reporting source and said second reporting source, user assigned to said first reporting source and said second reporting source, company providing said first reporting source and said second reporting source, and company utilizing said first reporting source and said second reporting source. 22. The method of claim 1 further comprising: receiving information from n reporting sources about said asset, wherein said n is an integer greater than or equal to three. 23. The method of claim 1 further comprising: receiving information for a plurality of assets; andproviding a grouping capability for grouping said plurality of assets in said database, wherein said grouping of said plurality of assets is selected from the grouping methods consisting of: location of said asset, type of said asset, assigned area of said asset, user assigned to said asset, company providing said asset, and company utilizing said asset. 24. An asset management system comprising: a computer system comprising a processor and a memory;a first reporting source configured to transmit a first portion of information about an asset;a second reporting source configured to transmit a second portion of information about said asset wherein said second reporting source uses a different means to transmit than said first reporting source;a database;a data receiver configured to receive said first portion of information and said second portion of information and populate said database with said first portion of information and said second portion of information; andan asset information report generator, implemented by said computer system, and configured to access said database and to generate from said database an asset information report about said asset, said asset information report comprising at least a portion of information from said first reporting source and at least a portion of information from said second reporting source. 25. The asset management system of claim 24 wherein said first portion of information comprises location data about said asset. 26. The asset management system of claim 24 wherein said second portion of information comprises location data about said asset. 27. The asset management system of claim 24 wherein said first portion of information comprises operation data about said asset. 28. The asset management system of claim 24 wherein said second portion of information comprises operation data about said asset. 29. The asset management system of claim 24 wherein said asset information report generator comprises: an automatic asset assigning module configured to assign an asset to a section in said asset information report;an automatic reporting source assigning module configured to assign said first reporting source and said second reporting source to a section in said asset information report;a reporting source grouper configured to group said first reporting source and said second reporting source into at least one source group based on location; andan asset grouper configured to group said at least one asset into at least one group. 30. The asset management system of claim 29 wherein said reporting source grouper groups said first reporting source and said second reporting source based on source groupings selected from the grouping methods consisting of: location of a source, type of said source, assigned area of said source, user assigned to said source, company providing said source, and company utilizing said source. 31. The asset management system of claim 29 wherein said at least one asset grouper groups said at least one asset based on asset groupings selected from the grouping methods consisting of: location of said at least one asset, type of said at least one asset, assigned area of said at least one asset, user assigned to said at least one asset, company providing said at least one asset, and company utilizing said at least one asset. 32. The asset management system of claim 24 wherein said asset information report comprises: a mapping capability configured to display a map image of an area and any database assets within said area;a user modifiable geo-fence coupled with a portion of said map image, said geo-fence configured to provide a selectable boundary on said map image; andan automated icon provider configured to provide an icon for said asset on said asset information report, wherein said icon is based on at least one asset operation data characteristic received about said asset from one of said first reporting source and said second reporting source. 33. The asset management system of claim 32 further comprising: a graphic user interface (GUI) formatter configured to represent said asset information report on a GUI. 34. The asset management system of claim 32 wherein icons for said first reporting source and said second reporting source are automatically provided on said asset information report, wherein said icons are based on at least one characteristic of said first reporting source and said second reporting source. 35. The asset management system of claim 24 wherein said asset information report provides real-time location and operation monitoring capabilities for said asset. 36. The asset management system of claim 24 wherein said asset information report provides near real-time location and operation monitoring capabilities for said asset. 37. The asset management system of claim 24 wherein at least one of said first reporting source and said second reporting source is selected from the group of sources consisting of: a Global Positioning System enabled tracking and wireless reporting device, a video device, a mobile phone, a personal digital assistant, a portable computing device, a radio frequency identifier, a global navigation satellite system (GNSS), and human intelligence (HumInt). 38. A non-transitory computer-usable storage medium having computer-readable instructions stored thereon which, when executed by a computer system, causes the computer system to perform a method for asset management, said method comprising: receiving a transmission of information from a first reporting source about an asset;receiving a transmission of information from a second reporting source about said asset, wherein said second reporting source uses a different means of transmission than said first reporting source;populating a database with said information from said first reporting source and said information from said second reporting source such that information from said first reporting source and information from said second reporting source can be collected from said database; andgenerating, from said database, an asset information report comprising at least a portion of information from said first reporting source and at least a portion of information from said second reporting source. 41. The non-transitory computer-usable storage medium of claim 40 further comprising: storing said information from said first reporting source and said information from said second reporting source in such a manner that said asset information report regarding said asset can be generated. 42. The non-transitory computer-usable storage medium of claim 40 wherein populating a database with said information from said first reporting source and said information from said second reporting source such that information from said first reporting source and information from said second reporting source can be collected from said database comprises: populating a distributed database with said information from said first reporting source and said information from said second reporting source such that information from said first reporting source and information from said second reporting source can be collected from said distributed database. 43.
