The lid according to claim 1 wherein the lid face, with respect to the reference plane, has an incline of between about 8 degrees and about 20 degrees. 5. The lid according to claim 1 further comprising a tab for closing the drinking opening, wherein the tab is movable relative to the lid for providing access to the drinking opening. 6. The lid according to claim 5 wherein the tab can be folded about a hinge axis between a closing position, in which the tab closes the drinking opening, and an open position, in which the tab frees the drinking opening for axial through-flow, the tab being fixable in its open position on the lid face. 7. The lid according to claim 1 wherein at least a portion of the lid face is parallel with respect to the reference plane. 8. The lid according to claim 7 wherein the drinking opening is defined in the portion of the lid face that is parallel to the reference plane. 9. The lid according claim 1 wherein the drinking opening has a larger dimension in the circumferential direction than in a radial direction. 10. The lid according to claim 1 wherein the projecting edge spans circumferentially around and encloses the lid face and includes an apex and an inner wall extending downward from the apex to the lid face. 11. The lid according to claim 10 wherein at a circumferential site of the greatest axial spacing of the lid face from the drinking opening, the inner wall encloses the lid face at an angle between about 90 degrees and about 110 degrees. 12. The lid according claim 10 wherein at a region nearest the drinking opening, the apex of the projecting edge has a greater axial distance from the reference plane that at a region diametrically opposing the drinking opening. 13. The lid according to claim 12 wherein distance between the apex of the projecting edge and the reference plane is at a maximum in the region nearest the drinking opening and is at a minimum in the region diametrically opposing the drinking opening. 14. The lid according to claim 10 wherein the height of the inner wall of the projecting edge is less in a region nearest the drinking opening and in a region diametrically opposing the drinking opening. 15. The lid according to claim 1 wherein the projecting edge, in a circumferential region of the drinking opening and a direction orthogonal to the circumferential direction, has a radius of curvature of between about 0.5 mm and about 2 mm. 16. The lid according to claim 1 wherein the outer perimeter portion of the lid includes a fastening portion configured to surround the container edge on two sides, radially outwardly and axially, wherein a portion of the fastening portion axially opposes the container edge when the lid is placed on a container. 17. The lid according to claim 1 further comprising a flat face is provided radially within the projecting edge and parallel to the reference plane in a region in which the drinking opening is provided, wherein the flat face adjoins the inclined lid face. 18. The lid according to claim 17 wherein the lid face adjoins the flat face along a bend axis, which is parallel to a hinge axis about which hinge axis the tab can be folded between a closing position and an open position. 19. The lid according to claim 1 wherein the lid face is formed from a plurality of part lid faces, wherein the plurality of part lid faces includes a first part lid face and a second part lid face, wherein the first part lid face is inclined with respect to the reference plane at an angle that is different than the second part lid face. 20. The lid according to claim 19 wherein the part lid faces adjoin one another along angling axes, which are parallel to at least one of a bend axis and a hinge axis about which a tab can be folded between a closing position and an open position.
