The hitch accessory system of claim 1, wherein the parallel bar includes a surface defining a recess capable of receiving a hitch safety pin for securing the crossbar within the hitch. 4. The hitch accessory system of claim 1, wherein the parallel bar includes a plurality of surfaces defining a plurality of recesses. 5. The hitch accessory system of claim 1, wherein the crossbar and crossbar insert are manufactured from steel, aluminum, or a combination thereof. 6. The hitch accessory system of claim 1, wherein the parallel bar of the crossbar is between about 20 inches and 60 inches in length. 7. The hitch accessory system of claim 1, wherein the perpendicular bar of the crossbar is between about 10 inches and 30 inches in length.
