The port fitting according to claim 1, wherein the seal is a ferrule. 4. The port fitting according to claim 1, wherein said fastening element comprises one of: a threaded area on the first portion; andholes in the head for receiving a fastening element. 5. The port fitting according to claim 1, wherein said port fitting has a central bore extending an entire length of said port fitting aligned with said axis. 6. The port fitting according to claim 5, wherein the bore has one of: an inlet mounted thereto;an outlet mounted thereto;a nozzle mounted thereto;a sensor unit disposed therein;a thermocouple disposed therein;a spring loaded sensor disposed therein; anda resistance thermometer disposed therein. 7. The port fitting according claim 1, wherein said port fitting has a central bore aligned with said axis extending through the shaft and terminating a distance from the terminal end. 8. The port fitting according to claim 7, wherein one of a sensor unit, a thermo couple, a spring-loaded sensor and a resistance thermometer is mounted in said bore. 9.
