초록

Various methods and apparatus are disclosed that relate to one or more aspects of an abatement system. In various aspects a nozzle assembly of an abatement system includes at least one rotationally adjustable nozzle tubing having at least one nozzle coupled thereto.

1. A nozzle assembly of an abatement system, the abatement system having a chamber with a gas flow inlet and a gas flow outlet, the nozzle assembly comprising: a tubing including a first portion disposed in said chamber and a second portion that extends exteriorly of said chamber;a liquid pathway within said first portion of said tubing, said liquid pathway in communication with a liquid source;a plurality of nozzles coupled to said first portion of said tubing and in flow communication with said liquid pathway;wherein liquid from said liquid source is provided to said nozzles through said liquid pathway and expelled by said nozzles into said chamber to remove at least one of heat and combustion byproducts from a gas flow moving from said gas flow inlet to said gas flow outlet; andwherein said first portion of said tubing is fixedly rotationally adjustable to a plurality of positions from exteriorly of said chamber by adjustment of said second portion that extends exteriorly of said chamber, whereby when said first portion of said tubing is rotationally adjusted said nozzles are correspondingly rotationally adjusted. 2. The nozzle assembly of claim 1, wherein said first portion of said tubing is rotationally adjustable to a plurality of fixed preselected positions. 3. The nozzle assembly of claim 1, wherein said first portion of said tubing is linear. 4. The nozzle assembly of claim 1, wherein said first portion of said tubing is rotationally adjustable between at least a first position and a second position that are rotationally offset at least ten degrees from one another. 5. The nozzle assembly of claim 1, further comprising: a second tubing disposed in said chamber; anda plurality of second nozzles coupled to said second tubing within said chamber. 6. The nozzle assembly of claim 5, wherein said tubing and said second tubing are removably received in said chamber. 7. The nozzle assembly of claim 6, wherein said tubing and said second tubing are monolithically removably received in said chamber. 8. The nozzle assembly of claim 6, wherein said tubing and said second tubing are independently removably received in said chamber. 9. The nozzle assembly of claim 1, wherein said tubing extends through a sealing plate sealingly engaged over a first opening through said chamber. 10. The nozzle assembly of claim 1, wherein at a first position of said positions, a first set of one or more of said nozzles are upwardly extending and a second set of one or more of said nozzles are downwardly extending. 11. The nozzle assembly of claim 1, wherein the second portion comprises one or more of an inline swivel, a pipe nipple, and a journal. 12. The nozzle assembly of claim 11, wherein the second portion comprises said pipe nipple and said pipe nipple extends exteriorly of said chamber and extends into said chamber. 13. The nozzle assembly of claim 12, wherein said pipe nipple is coupled, within said chamber, to said first portion. 14. A nozzle assembly of an abatement system, the abatement system having a chamber with an inlet, an outlet, and at least one opening extending through said chamber and positioned between said inlet and said outlet, the nozzle assembly comprising: a sealing plate blocking said opening;a tubing extending through said sealing plate and into said chamber;a liquid pathway within said tubing;a plurality of nozzles coupled to said tubing in said chamber and in flow communication with said liquid pathway;wherein said tubing is fixedly rotationally adjustable to a plurality of positions from exteriorly of said chamber, whereby rotationally adjusting said tubing correspondingly rotationally adjusts said nozzles. 15. The nozzle assembly of claim 14, further comprising: a second tubing sealingly extending from exterior of said chamber and into said chamber; anda plurality of second nozzles coupled to said second tubing in said chamber. 16. The nozzle assembly of claim 15, wherein said second tubing extends through a second sealing plate covering a second opening of said at least one opening through said chamber. 17. The nozzle assembly of claim 15, wherein said second tubing also extends through said sealing plate. 18. The nozzle assembly of claim 14, wherein said tubing is rotationally adjustable between at least a first position and a second position that are rotationally offset at least five degrees from one another.
