The cordless instrument of claim 1, wherein said handle further comprises an actuator in communication with said power supply system. 3. The cordless instrument of claim 1, further comprising a shaft intermediate said handle and said end effector, wherein said conductor extends at least partially through said shaft. 4. The cordless instrument of claim 3, wherein said shaft further comprises an articulation joint. 5. The cordless instrument of claim 1, wherein said end effector further comprises: a first jaw comprising said battery-powered electrode; anda second jaw comprising a second battery-powered electrode. 6. The cordless instrument of claim 5, wherein said conductor comprises a first conductor, and wherein said cordless instrument further comprises a second conductor extending between said power supply system and said second battery-powered electrode. 7. The cordless instrument of claim 6, wherein said first conductor comprises a supply path, and wherein said second conductor comprises a return path. 8. The cordless instrument of claim 1, wherein said power supply system further comprises a radio frequency signal generator operably coupled to said battery. 9. The cordless instrument of claim 1, wherein said end effector further comprises: a first jaw comprising a gap spacing pin; anda second jaw, wherein said gap spacing pin is configured to abut said second jaw when said end effector is in a clamped configuration. 10. The cordless instrument of claim 1, wherein said battery is configured to deliver a pulsed load. 11. A surgical instrument configured to delivery energy at a radio frequency, the surgical instrument comprising: an end effector, comprising: a battery-powered electrode; anda moveable cutting member;a conductor extending to said battery-powered electrode; anda handle comprising a power supply system, wherein said power supply system comprises an oscillator, an amplifier, and means for supplying power to said conductor. 12. The surgical instrument of claim 11, further comprising an articulation joint intermediate said end effector and said handle. 13. The surgical instrument of claim 11, wherein said end effector further comprises: a first jaw comprising said battery-powered electrode; anda second jaw comprising a second battery-powered electrode, wherein said moveable cutting member is configured to move along an axis intermediate said first jaw and said second jaw. 14. The surgical instrument of claim 13, further comprising a second conductor extending to said second battery-powered electrode. 15. The surgical instrument of claim 13, wherein said power supply system further comprises a switch for actuating said means. 16. The surgical instrument of claim 15, further comprising a closure trigger for moving said first jaw toward said second jaw. 17. The surgical instrument of claim 11, wherein said end effector further comprises: a first jaw comprising a gap spacing pin; anda second jaw, wherein said gap spacing pin is configured to abut said second jaw when said end effector is in a clamped configuration. 18. The surgical instrument of claim 11, wherein said means for supplying power is configured to deliver a pulsed load. 19. A surgical instrument configured to delivery energy at a radio frequency, the surgical instrument comprising: an end effector, comprising: a battery-powered electrode; anda moveable cutting member; anda conductor extending to said battery-powered electrode; anda handle comprising a power supply system, wherein said power supply system comprises a battery for supplying power, an oscillator, and an amplifier. 20. The surgical instrument of claim 19, wherein said end effector further comprises: a first jaw comprising said battery-powered electrode; anda second jaw comprising a second battery-powered electrode, wherein said moveable cutting member is configured to move along an axis intermediate said first jaw and said second jaw. 21. The surgical instrument of claim 19, wherein said end effector further comprises: a first jaw comprising a gap spacing pin; anda second jaw, wherein said gap spacing pin is configured to abut said second jaw when said end effector is in a clamped configuration. 22. The surgical instrument of claim 19, wherein said battery is configured to deliver a pulsed load. 23. A battery-powered surgical instrument configured to cut and coagulate tissue, the battery-powered surgical instrument comprising: a handle, comprising: a power source; anda radio frequency signal generator operably coupled to said power source and comprising an oscillator and an amplifier;a first conductor extending from said radio frequency signal generator;a second conductor extending from said radio frequency signal generator; andan end effector, comprising: a first jaw comprising a first battery-powered electrode, wherein said first conductor is operably coupled to said first battery-powered electrode; anda second jaw comprising a second battery-powered electrode, wherein said second conductor is operably coupled to said second battery-powered electrode. 24. The battery-powered surgical instrument of claim 23, further comprising an articulation joint between said handle and said end effector. 25. The battery-powered surgical instrument of claim 23, wherein said handle further comprises a switch, and wherein activation of said switch activates said power source. 26. The battery-powered surgical instrument of claim 23, wherein said first jaw comprises a gap spacing pin configured to abut said second jaw when said end effector is in a clamped configuration. 27. The battery-powered surgical instrument of claim 23, wherein said power source is configured to deliver a pulsed load.
