A system and method for increasing the amplitude of accommodation and/or changing the refractive power of lens material of a natural crystalline lens is provided. Generally, there is provided methods and systems for delivering a laser beam to a lens of an eye in a plurality of patterns results in the increased accommodative amplitude and/or refractive power of the lens. There is further provided a system and method of treating presbyopia by increasing both the flexibility of the human lens and the depth of field of the eye.
1. A method of treating presbyopia comprising: increasing flexibility of a lens of an eye by applying a first laser shot pattern to the lens;calculating a model of the lens, using-in-part data obtained from a light source, regarding a position of the lens; andincreasing a depth of field visualized b
1. A method of treating presbyopia comprising: increasing flexibility of a lens of an eye by applying a first laser shot pattern to the lens;calculating a model of the lens, using-in-part data obtained from a light source, regarding a position of the lens; andincreasing a depth of field visualized by the human eye by applying a second laser shot pattern to the lens. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the second laser shot pattern provides an aperture for the lens of the human eye, wherein the aperture is formed from material comprising an opacified annulus of human lens material. 3. The method of claim 2, wherein the second laser shot pattern creates the opacified annulus. 4. A method for treating presbyopia comprising: providing an eye that has presbyopia;calculating a model of a lens of the eye, using-in-part data regarding a position of the lens, the data obtained from a light source; andproviding a laser beam in a shot pattern to a portion of the lens, wherein the lens comprises an organelle degradation region and an organelle free region and the shot pattern consisting essentially of shots directed toward the organelle degradation region of the lens, wherein the shots directed toward the organelle degradation region of the lens treat the presbyopia of the eye. 5. A method for treating presbyopia comprising: providing an eye that has presbyopia;calculating a model of the lens of an eye, using-in-part data regarding the position of the lens, the data obtained from a light source; andproviding a laser beam in a shot pattern to a portion of a lens of the eye, wherein the lens comprises an organelle free region and the shot pattern consisting essentially of shots directed toward the organelle free region of the lens of the eye, wherein the shots directed toward the organelle free region of the lens treat the presbyopia of the eye. 6. The method of claim 1, wherein the first laser shot pattern creates nested shells. 7. The method of claim 6, wherein the first laser shot pattern creates cube shaped cuts. 8. The method of claim 1, wherein the first laser shot pattern creates cube shaped cuts. 9. The method of claim 3, wherein the second laser shot pattern opacities a portion of the lens to from about 20% to about 100% opacification. 10. The method of claim 3, wherein the second laser shot pattern opacities a portion of the lens to at least about 90% opacification. 11. A method for treating presbyopia comprising: providing an eye that has presbyopia;calculating a model of a lens of the eye, using-in-part data regarding the position of the lens, the data obtained from a light source; andproviding a laser beam in a shot pattern to a portion of the lens, wherein the lens comprises an organelle degradation region and an organelle free region and the shot pattern consisting essentially of shots directed toward the organelle degradation region and organelle free region of the lens, wherein the shots directed toward the organelle degradation region and the organelle free region of the lens treat the presbyopia of the eye.
