An irrigation sprinkler, comprising: a rotatable nozzle turret, the nozzle turret comprising: a first port in the nozzle turret capable of emitting a first stream of water from the sprinkler; anda second port capable of emitting a second stream of water from the sprinkler;a diverter valve positioned within the nozzle turret and configured to intermittently shift between a first valve position and a second valve position, wherein the diverter valve is configured to permit a first amount of water flow to the first port when in the first valve position, and wherein the diverter valve is configured to permit a second amount of water flow less than the first amount of water flow but greater than zero to the first port when in the second valve position;a gear train reduction capable of rotating the nozzle turret; anda turbine coupled to an input shaft of the gear train reduction. 2. The sprinkler of claim 1, wherein the diverter valve is configured to shift to a third valve position wherein the diverter valve stops flow through the first port when in the third valve position. 3. The sprinkler of claim 1, comprising a flow rate port valve positioned between the diverter valve and the first port, wherein the diverter valve is configured to transition the flow rate port between a plurality of positions corresponding to a plurality of flow rates through the first port. 4. The sprinkler of claim 3, wherein the flow rate port valve comprises a valve head, a valve seat configured to mate with the valve head, and a valve retainer connected to the valve head, wherein: the valve head is configured to selectively move toward and away from the valve seat;the valve retainer limits a maximum distance the valve head can move away from the valve seat; andthe valve retainer is configured to shut off flow of water to the first port when the valve head is at the maximum distance from the valve seat. 5. The sprinkler of claim 3, wherein the flow rate port valve comprises a valve seat and a valve head configured to mate with the valve seat, and wherein the flow rate port valve remains open when valve head is mated with the valve seat. 6. The sprinkler of claim 1, wherein the diverter valve is configured to selectively transition to a fourth valve position wherein the diverter valve cuts of fluid flow to the second port while permitting water flow to the first port. 7. The sprinkler of claim 1, wherein: the diverter valve is configured to selectively transition to a fourth valve position wherein the diverter valve cuts of fluid flow to the second port while permitting water flow to the first port;the sprinkler comprises a flow rate valve having a valve seat and a valve head configured to transition between a mated position and a spaced position;the valve head contacts the valve seat in the mated position;the valve head is spaced from the valve seat in the spaced position;the valve head is configured to transition to the mated position when the diverter valve transitions to the fourth valve position. 8. The sprinkler of claim 7, wherein the flow rate valve is configured to permit a first flow rate of water to pass to the first port when the valve head is in the mated position and to permit a second flow rate of water to pass to the first port when the valve head is in the spaced position, and wherein the first flow rate of water is less than the second flow rate of water but greater than zero. 9. An irrigation sprinkler comprising: a water inlet;a first water outlet;a second water outlet;a first valve configured to transition between a first valve position and a second valve position, wherein the first valve is configured to permit passage of a first flow rate of water to the first water outlet when in the first valve position and a second flow rate of water when in the second valve position, wherein the first flow rate is less than the second flow rate and greater than zero. 10. The sprinkler of claim 9, comprising a second valve configured to transition between a first position and a second position, wherein the second valve permits a first water flow rate through the second valve to the first water outlet when in the first position and a second water flow rate through the second valve to the first water outlet when in the second position. 11. The sprinkler of claim 10, wherein the second valve is positioned downstream from the first valve. 12. The sprinkler of claim 10, wherein both the first and second water flow rates are greater than zero. 13. The sprinkler of claim 10, wherein the first valve contacts the second valve when in the first valve position and when in the second valve position. 14. The sprinkler of claim 9, wherein the first valve permits water flow to the second outlet when in the first valve position and when in the second valve position. 15. The sprinkler of claim 9, wherein the first water outlet is rotatable with respect to the water inlet. 16. An irrigation sprinkler comprising: a sprinkler body having an upstream end and a downstream end;a nozzle turret connected to the downstream end of the sprinkler body;a first port in the nozzle turret;a second port in the nozzle turret; anda diverter valve positioned at least partially within the nozzle turret and configured to transition between a first position and a second position;wherein the diverter valve is configured to permit a first positive flow of water through the first port when in the first position and a second positive flow of water greater than the first positive flow of water when the diverter valve is in the second position. 17. The sprinkler of claim 16, wherein the diverter valve is configured to automatically transition between the first position and the second position as the nozzle turret rotates with respect to the sprinkler body. 18. The sprinkler of claim 16, wherein the diverter valve is configured to transition to a third position wherein the diverter valve cuts off all water flow to the second port. 19. The sprinkler of claim 16, wherein the diverter valve has a general L-shape.
