A method includes the steps of: providing an electric coffee brewing machine; providing a single-use, disposable brew basket, inserting the disposable brew basket into the electric coffee brewing machine; brewing a single cup of coffee with the electric coffee brewing machine; and discarding the disposable brew basket after the single cup of coffee has been brewed. The electric coffee brewing machine has a cold water reservoir, an electric heating element for heating the water, and a basket receiving recess. The disposable brew basket has a bottom wall and at least one side wall extending generally upwardly from the bottom wall to define a brewing reservoir for receiving heated water from the electric coffee brewing machine. The bottom wall of the basket has at least one port located in a central portion thereof to permit brewed coffee to flow from the disposable brew basket. The disposable brew basket is inserted into the basket receiving recess of the electric coffee brewing machine before brewing.

A method of supplying disposable brew baskets for use with an in-room beverage service to a lodging establishment, the lodging establishment having at least one room that contains a drip-type beverage dispenser having a housing with a water reservoir, a basket-receiving recess, a heating element for heating water, and a location to receive a single serving beverage container, the method comprising: providing a plurality of single serving disposable brew baskets configured for use with the drip-type beverage dispenser with the in-room beverage service for the lodging establishment,the brew baskets comprising a bottom and a wall extending generally upwardly from the bottom to define a brewing reservoir,the bottom and wall being formed with a disposable rigid one-piece construction,the bottom having a drip port configured to permit a brewed beverage to flow from the brewing reservoir of the disposable brew basket into a single serving beverage container,the wall of the brew basket extending upwardly from the bottom to an open top,wherein the plurality of drip-type single serving disposable brew baskets comprises a number of the brew baskets related to a number of times that the beverage dispenser is to be used over a period of time with the in-room beverage service for the lodging establishment; andwherein the plurality of single serving disposable brew baskets are configured to fit individually within the basket-receiving recess in the housing of the drip-type beverage dispenser. 2. The method of claim 1, further comprising providing a plurality of disposable filter packs, the filter packs containing an amount of grounds to brew approximately only a single serving of brewed beverage. 3. The method of claim 2, further comprising providing at least one said disposable brew basket in a first package and providing at least one said disposable filter pack in a second package, the first and second packages being separate from one another. 4. The method of claim 1, wherein the brewing reservoir has a size dimensioned appropriate to make approximately only a single serving of beverage during a single brewing operation. 5. The method of claim 2, wherein the plurality of disposable brew baskets and the plurality of filter packs are provided in equal numbers and in a one to one relation with one another. 6. The method of claim 1, further comprising providing a number of separate beverage dispensers, wherein the plurality of disposable brew baskets includes multiple disposable brew baskets for use with each of the separate beverage dispensers. 7. The method of claim 1, wherein the disposable brew baskets constitute single serving disposable brew baskets and the brewing reservoir has a size dimensioned appropriate to make approximately only a single serving of beverage. 8. The method of claim 1, wherein the plurality of disposable brew baskets are configured to be individually inserted into the basket-receiving recess in the beverage dispenser. 9. The method of claim 1, wherein the wall is tapered outwardly between the bottom and top. 10. The method of claim 1, wherein the open top has a perimeter that is at least as large as a perimeter of the wall. 11. The method of claim 2, further comprising providing a plurality of packages, wherein each of the packages contains at least one said disposable brew basket and at least one said disposable filter pack. 12. The method of claim 1, wherein the brewing area is sufficiently large to hold one of the filter packs and the heated water while brewing without a level of the heated water rising above and overflowing the open top. 13. The method of claim 1, wherein the brewing reservoir has a size dimensioned appropriate to make approximately only a single serving of beverage during a single brewing operation. 14. The method of claim 1, wherein the brew baskets are formed of vacuum formed high impact polystyrene. 15. The method of claim 1, further comprising discarding the disposable brew baskets after a brewing operation. 16. The method of claim 2, further comprising discarding the disposable brew baskets and the filter packs after a brewing operation. 17. The method of claim 1, wherein the providing operation includes providing the plurality of single serving disposable brew baskets to a lodging establishment for in-room use by guests. 18. The method of claim 17, further comprising discarding the brew baskets after a single serving of beverage has been brewed after the in-room use by guests. 19. The method of claim 18, further comprising providing the drip-type beverage dispenser at the lodging establishment for the in-room use by guests, wherein the plurality of single serving disposable brew baskets are provided by the lodging establishment for the in-room use by guests. 20. A method of supplying in-room beverage service to a lodging establishment, the lodging establishment having at least one room that contains a single drip-type beverage dispenser configured for in-room use by lodging guests, the beverage dispenser comprising a water reservoir, a basket-receiving recess, an electrical heating element, and a location at which heated water is discharged, the method comprising: providing a plurality of single serving disposable brew baskets configured to be used with the drip-type beverage dispenser with the in-room beverage service for the lodging establishment, wherein the plurality of single serving disposable brew baskets are configured to fit individually within the basket-receiving recess in the housing of the drip-type beverage dispenser,the brew baskets comprising a bottom and a wall extending generally upwardly from the bottom to define a brewing reservoir, the bottom and wall being formed with a disposable rigid one-piece construction,the bottom having a drip port configured to permit a brewed beverage to flow from the brewing reservoir of the disposable brew basket into a single serving beverage container,the wall of the brew basket extending upwardly from the bottom to an open top, andwherein the plurality of single serving disposable brew baskets relate to a number of brewing operations of the beverage dispenser with the in-room beverage service for the lodging establishment. 21. The method of claim 20, further comprising providing a plurality of disposable filter packs, the filter packs containing an amount of grounds to brew approximately only a single serving of brewed beverage. 22. The method of claim 21, further comprising providing at least one said disposable brew basket in a first package and providing at least one said disposable filter pack in a second package, the first and second packages being separate from one another. 23. The method of claim 21, further comprising providing a plurality of packages, wherein each of the packages contains at least one said disposable brew basket and at least one said disposable filter pack. 24. The method of claim 20, wherein the brewing area is sufficiently large to hold a filter pack and the heated water while brewing without a level of the heated water rising above and overflowing the open top. 25. The method of claim 20, further comprising discarding the brew baskets after a brewing operation. 26. The method of claim 20, wherein the brew baskets constitute single use brew baskets. 27. The method of claim 20, wherein the brew baskets are formed of vacuum formed high impact polystyrene. 28. The method of claim 20, further comprising discarding the disposable brew baskets and the filter packs after brewing operations. 29. A method of supplying in-room beverage service to a lodging establishment, the lodging establishment having at least one room that contains a single drip-type beverage dispenser configured for in-room use by lodging guests, the beverage dispenser comprising a water reservoir, a basket-receiving recess, an electrical heating element, and a location at which heated water is discharged, the method comprising: providing a plurality of disposable filter packs with the in-room beverage service for the lodging establishment, the filter packs containing an amount of grounds to brew approximately only a single serving of brewed beverage; andproviding a plurality of single serving disposable brew baskets configured to be used with the drip-type beverage dispenser with the in-room beverage service for the lodging establishment, wherein the plurality of single serving disposable brew baskets are configured to fit individually within the basket-receiving recess in the housing of the drip-type beverage dispenser,the brew baskets comprising a bottom and a wall extending generally upwardly from the bottom to define a brewing reservoir, the bottom and wall being formed with a disposable rigid one-piece construction,the bottom having a drip port configured to permit a brewed beverage to flow from the brewing reservoir of the disposable brew basket into a single serving beverage container,the wall of the brew basket extending upwardly from the bottom to an open top, andwherein the plurality of single serving disposable brew baskets and filter packs relate to a number of brewing operations of the beverage dispenser with the in-room beverage service for the lodging establishment. 30. The method of claim 29, further comprising providing a plurality of packages, wherein each of the packages contains at least one said disposable brew basket and at least one said disposable filter pack. 32. The method of claim 29, wherein the brewing area is sufficiently large to hold one of the filter packs and the heated water while brewing without a level of the heated water rising above and overflowing the open top. 33. The method of claim 29, wherein the plurality of disposable brew baskets and the disposable filter packs are provided by a hotel for daily in-room use by hotel guests. 34. The method of claim 30, further comprising discarding the disposable brew baskets and the filter packs after brewing operations by the hotel guests. 35. A method of supplying in-room beverage service to a lodging establishment, the method comprising: providing a drip-type beverage dispenser configured for use with the in-room beverage service for the lodging establishment, the beverage dispenser comprising a water reservoir, a basket-receiving recess, an electrical heating element, and a location at which heated water is discharged;providing a plurality of disposable filter packs, the filter packs containing an amount of grounds to brew approximately only a single serving of brewed beverage; andproviding a plurality of single serving disposable brew baskets configured to be used with the drip-type beverage dispenser, wherein the plurality of single serving disposable brew baskets are configured to fit individually within the basket-receiving recess in the housing of the drip-type beverage dispenser,the brew baskets comprising a bottom and a wall extending generally upwardly from the bottom to define a brewing reservoir, the bottom and wall being formed with a disposable rigid one-piece construction,the bottom having a drip port configured to permit a brewed beverage to flow from the brewing reservoir of the disposable brew basket into a single serving beverage container,the wall of the brew basket extending upwardly from the bottom to an open top, andwherein the plurality of single serving disposable brew baskets and filter packs relate to a number of brewing operations of the beverage dispenser with the in-room beverage service for the lodging establishment. 36. The method of claim 35, further comprising providing a number of beverage dispensers, wherein the plurality of disposable brew baskets includes multiple disposable brew baskets for use with each of the beverage dispensers. 39. The method of claim 35, wherein the wall is tapered outwardly between the bottom and top. 40. The method of claim 35, wherein the open top has a perimeter that is at least as large as a perimeter of the wall. 41. The method of claim 35, further comprising providing a plurality of packages, wherein each of the packages contains at least one said disposable brew basket and at least one disposable filter pack. 42. The method of claim 41, further comprising discarding the brew baskets and filter packs after in-room use. 43. The method of claim 42, further comprising providing another one of the packages for in-room use.
