At least one balancing pod within the housing and in fluid connection with the fluid paths. The balancing pod balances the flow of a first fluid and the flow of a second fluid such that the volume of the first fluid equals the volume of the second fluid. The balancing pod also includes a membrane that forms two balancing chambers. Also included in the cassette is at least two reciprocating pressure displacement membrane pumps. The pumps are within the housing and they pump the fluid from a fluid inlet to a fluid outlet line and pump the second fluid from a fluid inlet to a fluid outlet.

A pump cassette comprising two fluid pumps, two fluid balancing chambers, a plurality of fluid valves and a plurality of fluid flow paths; each fluid pump comprising a pumping chamber wall separated from a pump actuation chamber wall by a fluid pump flexible diaphragm;each fluid balancing chamber comprising a first balancing chamber wall separated from a second balancing chamber wall by a balancing chamber flexible diaphragm;each of said plurality of fluid valves comprising a valve fluid chamber wall separated from a valve actuation chamber wall by a valve flexible diaphragm;the pump cassette comprising a middle plate separating a top plate from a bottom plate;the top plate comprising the pumping chamber wall of each fluid pump, the first balancing chamber wall of each fluid balancing chamber, the valve fluid chamber wall of each of said plurality of fluid valves, and the plurality of fluid flow paths;the bottom plate comprising the pump actuation chamber wall of each fluid pump, the second balancing chamber wall of each fluid balancing chamber and the valve actuation chamber wall of each of said plurality of fluid valves;the middle plate defining a pump region between the pumping chamber wall and pump actuation chamber wall of each fluid pump, a balancing chamber region between the first balancing chamber wall and second balancing chamber wall of each fluid balancing chamber, and a valve region between the valve fluid chamber wall and the valve actuation chamber wall of each of said plurality of fluid valves, wherein the fluid pump diaphragm, the balancing chamber diaphragm and the valve diaphragm are positioned respectively in said pump, balancing chamber and valve regions;the middle plate enclosing the plurality of fluid flow paths of the top plate;wherein each of the pump actuation chamber walls and each of the valve actuation chamber walls include a pneumatic actuation port, and each of the second balancing chamber walls includes a fluidic port, said fluidic port communicating through the middle plate with one or more of said plurality of fluid flow paths. 3. The pump cassette of claim 2, wherein the plurality of fluid flow paths comprises a first fluid flow path fluidically separate from a second fluid flow path, the first and second fluid flow paths each having separate fluid inlets and fluid outlets on the pump cassette, wherein the fluidic ports of each of the second balancing chamber walls are fluidically connected to the second fluid flow path, and wherein a volume defined by the balancing chamber diaphragm and the first balancing chamber wall of each balancing chamber is fluidically connected to the first fluid flow path. 4. The pump cassette of claim 3, wherein a volume defined by the fluid pump diaphragm and the pumping chamber wall of each fluid pump is fluidically connected to the first fluid flow path. 5. The pump cassette of claim 4, wherein the plurality of fluid valves comprise a pump inlet and pump outlet valve, and a balancing chamber control valve for each of said fluid pumps and fluid balancing chambers in the first fluid flow path. 6. The pump cassette of claim 5, wherein the plurality of fluid valves comprise two balancing chamber control valves for each of said fluid balancing chambers in the second fluid flow path. 7. The pump cassette of claim 3, further comprising a metering pump configured to bypass said fluid pumps and said fluid balancing chambers in the first fluid flow path. 8. The pump cassette of claim 7, wherein the metering pump comprises a metering pumping chamber wall separated from a metering pump actuation chamber wall by a metering pump flexible diaphragm. 9. The pump cassette of claim 8, wherein the top plate comprises the metering pumping chamber wall, the bottom plate comprises the metering pump actuation chamber wall, and the middle plate defines a metering pump region occupied by the metering pump diaphragm. 10.
