The device of claim 1, wherein the first and second walls extend in parallel between the first and second ends, wherein the at least one holding point is disposed through each of the first and second walls. 3. The device of claim 2, wherein the parallel first and second walls are spaced apart from each other at a greater distance than an outer diameter of the cryovial associated with the rod. 4. The device of claim 2, wherein the at least one holding point upon each of the first and second walls are aligned at a consistent position along a length of each of the first and second walls. 5. The device of claim 1, wherein the at least one holding point comprises a plurality of holding points that are defined upon the rod between the first and second ends, wherein the plurality of holding points are disposed upon the rod with a consistent spacing from neighboring holding points. 6. The device of claim 5, wherein the plurality of holding points are each spaced apart from neighboring holding points a distance at least slightly greater than a height of a cryovial that the rod is configured to receive. 7. The device of claim 1, wherein a width of the neck portion is greater than a width of the finger, and the width of the neck portion is smaller than a height of the finger. 8. The device of claim 1, wherein one or both of the first and second ends of the rod comprise a hook. 9. The device of claim 1, wherein the cryovial pivots from the first orientation to the second orientation when the rod is moved from the orientation where its longitudinal axis is vertical to the orientation where its longitudinal axis is horizontal. 10. The device of claim 5, wherein each of the plurality of holding points are configured to simultaneously support a respective plurality of cryovials, wherein each cryovial supported by the rod simultaneously pivots from the first orientation to the second orientation when the rod is moved from the orientation where its longitudinal axis is vertical to the orientation where its longitudinal axis is horizontal. 11. The device of claim 10, wherein each cryovial supported by the rod simultaneously pivots from the second orientation to the first orientation when the rod is moved from the orientation where its longitudinal axis is horizontal to the orientation where its longitudinal axis is vertical. 12. The device of claim 1, wherein the neck portion of the recess is oriented horizontally when the longitudinal axis of the rod is vertical, and oriented vertically when the longitudinal axis of the rod is horizontal. 13. A device for manipulating a plurality of cryovials, comprising: an elongate rod including a base and a pair of parallel first and second walls extending between opposed first and second ends, and at least one holding point disposed upon the rod between the first and second ends,the at least one holding point comprising a recess defined extending downward through at least one of the parallel first and second walls from a top edge of at least one of the parallel first and second walls when the longitudinal axis of the rod is horizontal, each top edge of the parallel first and second walls defining an opening in the base sized to receive a cryovial when the cryovial is extended substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the rod,wherein the at least one holding point is configured to receive and support the cryovial, with a projection from the cryovial disposed within the recess, such that the cryovial is supported and is pivotable in a range of orientations with respect to the rod between a first orientation where the cryovial extends substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the rod to a second orientation where the cryovial extends substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the rod, wherein the rod is configured to align the cryovial disposed upon the at least one holding point in the first orientation when the rod is disposed such that its longitudinal axis is vertical, and the rod is configured to align the cryovial disposed upon the at least one holding point in the second orientation when the longitudinal axis of the rod is horizontal. 14. The device of claim 13, wherein the parallel first and second walls are spaced apart from each other at a greater distance than an outer diameter of the cryovial associated with the rod. 15.
