A thermal acoustic insulation system that passes the flame propagation and burnthrough resistance test protocols of 14 C.F.R. §25.856(a) and (b), Appendix F, Parts VI and VII, comprising at least one insulating layer disposed within a covering of: (i) an exteriorly facing fire barrier laminate comprising: (a) a first film layer;(b) a support layer on top of the first film layer;(c) a non-fibrous fire barrier layer on top of the support layer; and(d) optionally, a second film layer on top of the non-fibrous fire barrier layer;wherein the non-fibrous fire barrier layer comprises at least one inorganic pigment material, wherein the at least one inorganic pigment material comprises mica; and(ii) an interiorly facing inboard cover film. 2. The thermal acoustic insulation system of claim 1, wherein the interiorly facing inboard cover film is the same as the exteriorly facing fire barrier laminate. 3. The thermal acoustic insulation system of claim 1, wherein the interiorly facing inboard cover film consists essentially of a polymer film. 4. The thermal acoustic insulation system of claim 1, wherein the exteriorly facing fire barrier laminate and the interiorly facing inboard cover film are sealed with an adhesive to partially or substantially totally envelop or encapsulate the at least one insulating layer. 5. A thermal acoustic insulation system that passes the flame propagation and burnthrough resistance test protocols of 14 C.F.R. §25.856(a) and (b), Appendix F, Parts VI and VII, comprising at least one insulating layer disposed within a covering of: (i) an exteriorly facing fire barrier laminate comprising: (a) a first film layer;(b) a non-fibrous fire barrier layer proximate to the first film layer, the non-fibrous fire barrier layer comprising at least one inorganic pigment material;(c) a support layer between the first film layer and the non-fibrous fire barrier layer; and(d) optionally, a second film layer on top of the non-fibrous fire barrier layer; and(ii) an interiorly facing inboard cover film. 6. The thermal acoustic insulation system of claim 5, wherein the interiorly facing inboard cover film is the same as the exteriorly facing fire barrier laminate. 7. The thermal acoustic insulation system of claim 5, wherein the interiorly facing inboard cover film consists essentially of a polymer film. 8. The thermal acoustic insulation system of claim 5, wherein the exteriorly facing fire barrier laminate and the interiorly facing inboard cover film are sealed with an adhesive to partially or substantially totally envelop or encapsulate the at least one insulating layer. 9. A thermal acoustic insulation system that passes the flame propagation and burnthrough resistance test protocols of 14 C.F.R. §25.856(a) and (b), Appendix F, Parts VI and VII, comprising at least one insulating layer disposed within a covering of: (i) an exteriorly facing fire barrier laminate comprising: (a) a first film layer;(b) a support layer on top of the first film layer;(c) a non-fibrous fire barrier layer on top of the support layer, the non-fibrous fire barrier layer comprising at least one inorganic platelet; and(d) a second film layer on top of the support layer;wherein the at least one inorganic platelet comprises mica; and(ii) an interiorly facing inboard cover film. 10. The thermal acoustic insulation system of claim 9, wherein the interiorly facing inboard cover film is the same as the exteriorly facing fire barrier laminate. 11. The thermal acoustic insulation system of claim 9, wherein the interiorly facing inboard cover film consists essentially of a polymer film. 12. The thermal acoustic insulation system of claim 9, wherein the exteriorly facing fire barrier laminate and the interiorly facing inboard cover film are sealed with an adhesive to partially or substantially totally envelop or encapsulate the at least one insulating layer. 13. The thermal acoustic insulation system of claim 9, wherein the non-fibrous fire barrier layer comprises mica in an amount from about 20 to about 100 weight percent, based on the total weight of the non-fibrous fire barrier layer. 14. The thermal acoustic insulation system of claim 9, wherein the non-fibrous fire barrier layer comprises mica in an amount of about 100 weight percent, based on the total weight of the non-fibrous fire barrier layer. 15. The thermal acoustic insulation system of claim 9, wherein the non-fibrous fire barrier layer comprises an adhesive in addition to the at least one inorganic platelet. 16. The thermal acoustic insulation system of claim 15, wherein the adhesive is a pressure sensitive adhesive. 17. The thermal acoustic insulation system of claim 16, wherein the pressure sensitive adhesive is a silicone pressure sensitive adhesive. 18. The thermal acoustic insulation system of claim 9, wherein there is an adhesive layer between the non-fibrous fire barrier layer and the second film layer. 19. The thermal acoustic insulation system of claim 18, wherein the adhesive is a pressure sensitive adhesive. 20. The thermal acoustic insulation system of claim 19, wherein the pressure sensitive adhesive is a silicone pressure sensitive adhesive.
