The welding system of claim 1, wherein the control circuitry comprises a switch configured to detect whether the protective cover is in the first position or the second position. 4. The welding system of claim 1, wherein the welding operation comprises a live welding operation, and the control circuitry is configured to block the live welding operation by blocking weld power from flowing to a welding torch while the protective cover is in the second position or blocking welding wire from being provided to the welding torch while the protective cover is in the second position. 5. The welding system of claim 1, comprising the display, wherein the display is configured to provide an indication that the protective cover is in the second position. 6. The welding system of claim 1, comprising the display, wherein the protective cover is disposed away from the display while the protective cover is in the second position. 7. The welding system of claim 1, comprising the display, wherein the protective cover is disposed adjacent the display while the protective cover is in the first position. 8. The welding system of claim 1, comprising a speaker coupled to the control circuitry, wherein the control circuitry is configured to control the speaker to provide audio feedback to the welding operator while the protective cover is in the second position. 9. The welding system of claim 1, wherein the protective cover comprises a handle configured to facilitate rotation of the protective cover from the first position to the second position. 10. The welding system of claim 1, comprising a power outlet, wherein the control circuitry is configured to block availability of power to the power outlet while the protective cover is in the second position. 11. A welding system comprising: a protective cover selectively movable between a first position and a second position, wherein while in the first position the protective cover is configured to block environmental elements from contacting a display, and while in the second position the protective cover is not configured to block environmental elements from contacting the display, wherein the protective cover comprises a transparent material, and the display is viewable by a welding operator through the protective cover; andcontrol circuitry configured to detect whether the protective cover is in the first position or the second position, wherein the control circuitry is configured to block live welding while the protective cover is in the second position. 12. The welding system of claim 11, wherein the control circuitry comprises a switch configured to detect whether the protective cover is in the first position or the second position. 13. The welding system of claim 11, wherein the control circuitry is configured to block powering of one or more devices while the protective cover is in the second position. 14. The welding system of claim 11, comprising the display, wherein the display is configured to provide an indication that the protective cover is in the second position. 15. The welding system of claim 11, comprising the display, wherein the protective cover is disposed away from the display while the protective cover is in the second position, and the protective cover is disposed adjacent the display while the protective cover is in the first position. 16. The welding system of claim 11, comprising a speaker coupled to the control circuitry, wherein the control circuitry is configured to control the speaker to provide audio feedback to the welding operator while the protective cover is in the second position. 17. A welding system comprising: a protective cover selectively movable between a first position and a second position, wherein while in the first position the protective cover is configured to block environmental elements from contacting a display, and while in the second position the protective cover is not configured to block environmental elements from contacting the display, wherein the protective cover comprises a transparent material, and the display is viewable by a welding operator through the protective cover;control circuitry configured to detect whether the protective cover is in the first position or the second position; andcomprising a speaker coupled to the control circuitry, wherein the control circuitry is configured to control the speaker to provide audio feedback to the welding operator while the protective cover is in the second position. 18. The welding system of claim 17, wherein the control circuitry comprises a switch configured to detect whether the protective cover is in the first position or the second position. 19. The welding system of claim 17, wherein the control circuitry is configured to block powering of one or more devices while the protective cover is in the second position. 20. The welding system of claim 17, comprising the display, wherein the protective cover is disposed away from the display while the protective cover is in the second position, and the protective cover is disposed adjacent the display while the protective cover is in the first position.
