Systems and methods are method of for remote monitoring of an area with a remote sensing device (100, 200, 300) encased in a rubber ball (302). A remote sensing device (100, 200, 300) is provided which receives a spoken description of a location of the remote sensing device and stores the spoken description as predetermined location information. The description can be received directly prior to deployment or wirelessly transmitted from another device (400). The remote sensing device can sense information related to its environment via a motion sensor (314), such as whether an intruder is located within a vicinity of the remote sensing device (100, 200, 300). The remote sensing device (100, 200, 300) can then transmit the predetermined location information and the environment information to the another device (400) in response to the sensing. In response to receipt, the other device (400) can render the predetermined location information and the environment information in an audible format.

The sensing device of claim 1, wherein the at least one sensor, the memory, and the processor are encased in a housing that comprises a rubber ball. 3. The sensing device of claim 2, wherein the acoustic sensor comprises one or more microphones positioned in disparate locations within the housing. 4. The sensing device of claim 1, wherein the computer executable components further comprise: an activation component configured to active or deactivate the at least one sensor in response to receipt of an activation command or a deactivation command, respectively, from the remote device. 5. The sensing device of claim 1, wherein the at least one sensor further comprises at least one of a three-dimensional compass, a gyro sensor, or an accelerometer configured to receive information regarding at least one of a position, an orientation or a movement of the sensing device. 6. The sensing device of claim 1, further comprising: an analysis component configured to determine an updated location of the sensing device based on the audible description of the location of the sensing device and movement information regarding movement of the sensing device. 7. The sensing device of claim 6, further comprising: an activation component configured to deactivate the at least one sensor based on the updated location of the sensing device. 8. The sensing device of claim 1, wherein the communication component is configured to transmit the noise sensed by the acoustic sensor to the remote device in real-time. 9. The sensing device of claim 1, wherein the at least one sensor includes a three-dimensional compass, and wherein the environment information further includes positional information of the at least one object with respect to the sensing device. 10. The sensing device of claim 1, further comprising: an analysis component configured to that perform acoustic scene analysis based on the noise to determine context information associated with the sensing device, a number of objects near the sensing device, and wherein the communication component is further configured to wirelessly transmit the context information to the remote device. 11. The sensing device of claim 1, wherein the communication component is further configured to initiate a telephone call to the remote device, comprising the spoken description of the location of the sensing device and the environment information, in response to the reception of the environment information by the at least one sensor. 12. The sensing device of claim 1, further comprising: an analysis component configured to perform acoustic scene analysis based on the noise to determine context information associated with the sensing device, comprising a location of an object relative to the sensing device, and wherein the communication component is further configured to wirelessly transmit the context information to the remote device. 13. The sensing device of claim 1, wherein the input component is configured to receive and record the spoken description of the location of the sensing device prior to placement of the sensing device at the location, and wherein the at least one sensor is configured to receive the environment information after placement of the sensing device at the location. 14. A method, comprising: receiving, by a sensing device comprising a processor, programmatic input including an audible description of a location of the remote sensing device;recording, by the sensing device, the audible description of the location in a memory of the remote sensing device;sensing, by the sensing device, environment information related to an environment of the remote sensing device, comprising sound associated with the environment of the remote sensing device; andin response to the sensing of the environment information, wirelessly transmitting, by the sensing device to a remote device, the environment information and the audible description of the location of the sensing device for playback by the remote device. 15. The method of claim 14, wherein the sensing device is housed by a rubber ball. 16. The method of claim 14, further comprising activating or deactivating, by the sensing device, sensing capabilities of the sensing device in response to receiving an activation or deactivation command, respectively, from the remote device. 17. The method of claim 14, further comprising: determining, by the sensing device based on the sound, context information including a number of objects near the sensing device; andwirelessly transmitting, by the sensing device, the context information to the remote device. 18. A sensing device, comprising: a memory;at least one microphone configured to receive an audible description of a location of the sensing device and record the audible description in the memory, wherein the at least one microphone is further configured to receive sound signals occurring in an environment of the sensing device; anda transmitter configured to transmit, to a remote device for playback by the remote device, the audible description of the location of the sensing device and the sound signals in response to reception of the sound signals by the at least one microphone. 19. The sensing device of claim 18, further comprising: a processor that executes computer executable components stored in the memory, comprising: an analysis component configured to determine based on the sound signals, context information regarding a number of objects near the sensing device, wherein the transmitter is further configured to transmit the context information to the remote device in response to reception of the sound signals by the at least one microphone. 20. The sensing device of claim 18, further comprising: a motion sensor configured to receive motion information regarding movement of the sensing device; anda processor that executes computer executable components stored in the memory, comprising: an analysis component configured to determine a new location of the sensing device based on the motion information and the audible description of the location of the sensing device; andan activation component configured to deactivate the at least one microphone based on the new location being outside a defined physical area.
