A spinal fixation structure comprising: a receiver having a set of arms, each of the set of arms having an inner surface;a channel defined by the set of arms;a closure rotationally receivable into the channel;at least one closure flange form extending continuously and helically about the closure from a root to a crest, the at least one closure flange having a closure load flank and a closure splay control ramp; andat least one receiver flange form extending discontinuously and helically along the inner surface of each of the set of arms, the at least one receiver flange form having a receiver load flank and a receiver splay control ramp, the closure splay control ramp and the receiver splay control ramp having a spatial relationship such that a portion of the closure splay control ramp remains unloaded and spaced a distance from the receiver flange form upon initial application of a load onto the closure load flank and the receiver load flank, the distance generating a thrust between the closure and the receiver during advancement of the closure into the channel at a given torque, the closure splay control ramp rotating within the receiver splay control ramp to allow an outward splay of the set of arms during the advancement of the closure into the channel, the outward splay subsequently constrained upon a mutual engagement of the closure splay control ramp and the receiver splay control ramp in a locking relationship. 2. The spinal fixation structure of claim 1, wherein the outward splay ranges from 0.004 to 0.006 inches for the given torque. 3. The spinal fixation structure of claim 1, wherein the given torque ranges from 70 inch pounds and to 110 inch pounds. 4. The spinal fixation structure of claim 1, wherein the closure is at least one of: single start, multi-start, one piece, or two piece. 5. A method for generating a controlled splay in a spinal fixation structure, the method comprising: receiving a closure within a channel defined by a set of arms of a receiver, the closure received through a rotational advancement of the closure about an axis within the channel, each of the set of arms having an inner surface, the closure having at least one closure flange form extending continuously and helically about the closure, the closure flange having a closure load flank and a closure splay control ramp, the receiver having at least one receiver flange form extending discontinuously and helically along the inner surface of each of the set of arms, the receiver flange form having a receiver load flank and a receiver splay control ramp;engaging the closure load flank with the receiver load flank, the closure load flank and the receiver load flank being axially loaded in a direction of the axis;allowing an outward splay of the set of arms in a direction outward from the axis as a torque between the closure and the set of arms increases during engagement of the closure load flank with the receiver load flank; andsubsequently engaging the receiver splay control ramp and the closure splay control ramp in a radial direction into a locking relationship, the locking relationship constraining the outward splay of the set of arms. 6. The method of claim 5, wherein a root surface of the receiver flange remains spaced from a crest surface of the closure flange and a crest surface of the receiver flange remains spaced from a root surface of the closure flange. 7. The method of claim 5, wherein a toe of the closure splay control ramp remains unloaded such that a termination of the closure splay control ramp remains spaced from the receiver flange. 8. The method of claim 5, further comprising: generating a thrust between the closure and the receiver caused by a portion of the closure splay control ramp remaining unloaded and spaced from the receiver flange form during the rotational advancement of the closure about the axis within the channel. 9. A spinal fixation structure comprising: a receiver having a set of arms, each of the set of arms having an inner surface;a channel defined by the set of arms;a closure rotationally receivable into the channel;at least one closure flange form extending continuously and helically about the closure, the at least one closure flange having a closure load flank and a closure splay control ramp; andat least one receiver flange form extending discontinuously and helically along the inner surface of each of the set of arms, the at least one receiver flange form having a receiver load flank and a receiver splay control ramp, wherein the closure flange and the receiver flange allow an outward splay of the set of arms in a direction outward from the axis as a torque between the closure and the set of arms increases during an axially loading of the closure load flank and the receiver load flank in a direction of the axis, the receiver splay control ramp mutually engaging the closure splay control ramp in a radial direction into a locking relationship, the locking relationship constraining the outward splay of the set of arms. 10. The spinal fixation structure of claim 9, wherein the outward splay ranges from 0.004 to 0.006 inches for a given value of the torque. 11. The spinal fixation structure of claim 10, wherein the given value of the torque ranges from 70 inch pounds and to 110 inch pounds. 12. The spinal fixation structure of claim 9, wherein a portion of the closure splay control ramp remaining unloaded and spaced from the receiver flange form during the rotational advancement of the closure about the axis within the channel generating a thrust.
