1. An aquatic lighting system, comprising: a first power line modem coupled to an AC power line and a local area network;a user interface that is configured to: receive user input specifying a lighting selection; andtransmit lighting data that represents the lighting selection to the first power line modem via the local area network; anda lighting controller that receives power via the AC power line, the lighting controller comprising: a light driver circuit coupled to at least one light source;a second power line modem coupled to the AC power line, wherein the second power line modem receives the lighting data over the AC power line from the first power line modem; anda processor that is configured to: receive the lighting data from the second power line modem; andcause the light driver circuit to drive the at least one light source to present the lighting selection based on the lighting data. 2. The system of claim 1, further comprising a housing configured to be completely submerged underwater, wherein the lighting controller and the at least one light source are disposed within the housing. 3. The system of claim 1, wherein the user interface is a mobile computing device. 4. The system of claim 1, wherein the user interface presents a plurality of selectable lighting selections, and the user input specifies a particular lighting selection of the plurality of selectable lighting selections. 5. The system of claim 1, wherein the user interface is further configured to receive user input selecting media content to be used in the specified lighting selection. 6. The system of claim 5, wherein the media content is uploaded via the user interface. 7. The system of claim 5, wherein the user interface is further configured to transmit information identifying an address at which the media content is available, and wherein the processor is further configured to stream the media content from the address. 8. The system of claim 5, wherein the at least one light source comprises a projector. 9. The system of claim 1, wherein the first power line modem is coupled to a routing device in the local area network via a wired connection, and the user interface is coupled to the routing device via a wireless connection, and wherein the lighting data is transmitted to the first power line modem via the routing device. 10. The system of claim 1, wherein the at least one light source comprises a plurality of light emitting diodes. 11. A method for controlling an aquatic lighting system, the method comprising: receiving, by a user interface, user input specifying a lighting selection;transmitting lighting data that represents the lighting selection to a first power line modem via a local area network;transmitting, by the first power line modem, the lighting data to a second power line modem over at least a portion of an AC power line network;receiving, by the second power line modem, the lighting data via an AC power line of the AC power line network;receiving, by a processor that receives power via the AC power line, the lighting data from the second power line modem; andcausing, by the processor, a light driver circuit to drive at least one light source coupled to the light driver circuit to present the lighting selection based on the lighting data. 12. The method of claim 11, wherein the user interface is a mobile computing device. 13. The method of claim 11, further comprising: presenting, by the user interface, a plurality of selectable lighting selections; andreceiving user input that specifies a particular lighting selection of the plurality of selectable lighting selections. 14. The method of claim 11, further comprising receiving, by the user interface, user input selecting media content to be used in the specified lighting selection. 15. The method of claim 14, further comprising uploading the media content via the user interface. 16. The method of claim 14, further comprising: transmitting, by the user interface, information identifying an address at which the media content is available; andstreaming, by the processor, the media content from the address. 17. The method of claim 11, further comprising securely linking the first power line modern and the second power line modem using, a unique security key. 18. The method of claim 17, further comprising receiving user input at the second power line modem to cause the second power line modem to securely link to the first power line modem. 19. The method of claim 18, wherein the linking input is received by a hall effect sensor that is activated by a magnet being placed in range of the hall effect sensor. 20. The method of claim 19, wherein hall-effect sensor has a range of about 10 centimeters.
