An adjustable seal system, seal component for use in the system, and method are provided for forming a sealing interface between a residual limb and a prosthetic socket. The seal component is selectively placed over the outer surface of a suspension liner including a plurality of seal bands, which the seal component may removably and securely engage.

1. An adjustable seal system for providing an interface between a residual limb and a prosthetic socket, comprising: a liner having a liner body forming an axis (A-A) and an outer surface, the outer surface including a plurality of seal bands located along the height of the liner body and an outer surface of the liner body by being spaced along and relative to the axis (A-A), each of the seal bands protruding outwardly from the outer surface of the liner body relative to the axis (A-A);a seal component having open upper and lower ends defining an opening therethrough and an internal surface having an axis (B-B) arranged concentric with the axis (A-A) of the liner body, the internal surface arranged to frictionally engage at least one of the plurality of seal bands and secure on the outer surface of the liner body, the seal component having a seal arranged to protrude away from the axis (B-B);wherein each seal band of the plurality of seal bands forms a bubble or dome shape protruding from the outer surface of the liner body, such that the outer surface of the liner body is formed from a textile and each seal band of the plurality of seal bands is formed from a polymeric material that interlocks with the textile;wherein the seal component is placed over at least one seal band of the plurality of seal bands such that the seal of the seal component is radially aligned with the at least one seal band of the plurality of seal bands. 2. The adjustable seal system of claim 1, wherein the liner defines a closed-ended distal portion, the seal component is adapted to be inserted onto the liner from the distal portion. 3. The adjustable seal system of claim 2, wherein the liner defines an open-ended proximal portion having a greater diameter than the distal portion. 4. The adjustable seal system of claim 3, wherein a diameter of the opening of the seal component is less than the diameter of the proximal portion of the liner body. 5. The adjustable seal system of claim 1, wherein the seal component has an upper portion having a segment with a curvature descending to the seal, and a lower portion has a segment curvingly ascending to the seal. 6. The adjustable seal system of claim 5, wherein the seal extends from the lower portion and a distance beyond the periphery of the curvature. 7. The adjustable seal system of claim 5, wherein the upper portion defines a recess formed by the periphery of the curvature proximate the seal, and a bevel delimiting a top portion of the recess from the curvature. 8. The adjustable seal system of claim 5, wherein the lower portion defines a plurality of ribs circumferentially extending around the periphery of the lower portion. 9. The adjustable seal system of claim 1, further comprising a textile sleeve secured to and extending axially away from an upper portion of the seal component, and the textile sleeve arranged to radially compress against the outer surface of the liner, the seal component being formed from a polymeric material. 10. The adjustable seal system of claim 1, wherein the seal component defines interior blades located along the internal surface and correspond in location to the seal located on an exterior side of the seal component. 11. The adjustable seal system of claim 1, wherein each of the plurality of seal bands extends through the textile to an inner surface of the liner body formed from the polymeric material forming the plurality of seal bands. 12. An adjustable seal system for providing an interface between a residual limb and a prosthetic socket, comprising: a liner having a liner body forming an axis (A-A) and an outer surface, the outer surface including a plurality of seal bands located along the height of the liner body and an outer surface of the liner body by being spaced along and relative to the axis (A-A), each of the seal bands protruding outwardly from the outer surface of the liner body relative to the axis (A-A);a seal component having open upper and lower ends defining an opening therethrough and an internal surface having an axis (B-B) arranged concentric with the axis (A-A) of the liner body, the internal surface arranged to frictionally engage at least one of the plurality of seal bands and secure on the outer surface of the liner body, the seal component having a seal arranged to protrude away from the axis (B-B);wherein the seal extends from a lower portion and a distance beyond a periphery of a seal component curvature;wherein the seal is arranged to protrude away from the outer surface of the liner body, and arranged to collapse against the outer surface when placed and engaging a socket, essentially losing the distance. 13. An adjustable seal system for providing an interface between a residual limb and a prosthetic socket, comprising: a liner having a liner body forming an axis (A-A) and an outer surface, the outer surface including a plurality of seal bands located along the height of the liner body and an outer surface of the liner body by being spaced along and relative to the axis (A-A), each of the seal bands protruding outwardly from the outer surface of the liner body relative to the axis (A-A);a seal component having open upper and lower ends defining an opening therethrough and an internal surface having an axis (B-B) arranged concentric with the axis (A-A) of the liner body, the internal surface arranged to frictionally engage at least one of the plurality of seal bands and secure on the outer surface of the liner body, the seal component having a seal arranged to protrude away from the axis (B-B);wherein the seal component has an upper portion having a segment with a curvature descending to the seal, and a lower portion has a segment curvingly ascending to the seal;wherein the seal forms a flap protruding away from the upper portion of the seal component a distance while having a base intersecting with the upper curvature. 14. The adjustable seal system of claim 13, wherein the upper portion defines a recess formed by the periphery of the curvature proximate the seal, and a bevel delimiting a top portion of the recess from the curvature, the flap generally having a size corresponding to the recess such that upon insertion into a socket, the flap is urged into the recess, and the flap has an end portion that abuts the bevel. 15. The adjustable seal system of claim 14, wherein the upper and lower portions generally intersect at a base of the flap. 16. An adjustable seal system for providing an interface between a residual limb and a prosthetic socket, comprising: a liner having a liner body forming an axis (A-A) and an outer surface, the outer surface including a plurality of seal bands located along the height of the liner body and an outer surface of the liner body by being spaced along and relative to the axis (A-A), each of the seal bands protruding outwardly from the outer surface of the liner body relative to the axis (A-A);a seal component having open upper and lower ends defining an opening therethrough and an internal surface having an axis (B-B) arranged concentric with the axis (A-A) of the liner body, the internal surface arranged to frictionally engage at least one of the plurality of seal bands and secure on the outer surface of the liner body, the seal component having a seal arranged to protrude away from the axis (B-B);wherein each seal band of the plurality of seal bands forms a bubble or dome shape protruding from the outer surface of the liner body, such that the outer surface of the liner body is formed from a textile and each seal band of the plurality of seal bands is formed from a polymeric material that interlocks with the textile;wherein the seal component is arranged to be placed over at least two seal bands of the plurality of seal bands.
