The product dispensing system of claim 1 further comprising at least one sensor for sensing fluid flow. 6. The product dispensing system of claim 5 further comprising a reluctance sensor, the reluctance sensor for determining the position of the piston. 7. The product dispensing system of claim 5 further comprising an anemometer in thermal communication with the fluid flow. 8. The product dispensing system of claim 5 further comprising a paddle wheel sensor for sensing fluid flow. 9. The product dispensing system of claim 8 wherein the paddle wheel sensor comprising: a paddle wheel;an infrared emitter for emitting an infrared beam; andan infrared receiver for receiving the emitted infrared beam,wherein the infrared emitter and the infrared receiver are located on opposite sides of the paddle wheel and wherein the fluid flow rotates the paddle wheel and the paddle wheel interrupts the infrared beam.
