The garment of claim 1, wherein the stays are located within 60 degrees of an axis bisecting a torso of the wearer, the axis passing through a centerline of the front and back panel of the garment when worn by the wearer. 5. The garment according to claim 1, further comprising a support panel attached to the back fabric panel, the support panel having a length measured parallel to a spine of the wearer when the garment is worn by the wearer, wherein the length of the support panel is less than a length of the back fabric panel measured in the same direction. 6. The garment according to claim 1, further comprising a support panel attached to the back fabric panel, the support panel having a length approximately equal to a length of the stays, where the length of each is measured parallel to a spine of the wearer when the garment is worn by the wearer. 7. The garment according to claim 1, further comprising a support panel attached to the back fabric panel, the support panel including a V-shaped cut-out near a waist of the garment such that an area of the back panel within the V-shaped cut-out has greater release than the support panel surrounding the area. 8. The garment according to claim 1, further comprising a support panel attached to the back fabric panel such that the stays are positioned on or adjacent to edges of the support panel, the edges parallel to the spine of the wearer when the garment is worn by the wearer. 9. The garment according to claim 1, further comprising first and second support panels attached to the back fabric panel such that a width of the combined first and second support panels extends from a first end of the front fabric panel to a second end of the front fabric panel. 10. The garment according to claim 1, further comprising first and second support panels attached to the back fabric panel, wherein the first support panel has an elasticity in a first direction that is different than an elasticity of the second support panel in the first direction. 11. The garment according to claim 1, further comprising a support panel attached to the back fabric panel and extending around the back of the garment so that both a first and second end of the support panel abut the front fabric panel. 12. The garment according to claim 1, further comprising a wrap panel supported by the front fabric panel, the wrap panel sized and positioned on the front fabric panel such that at least one edge of the front fabric panel is remote from the wrap panel. 13. The garment of claim 1 wherein the garment has a polymer feature disposed thereon such that the polymer feature will contact the wearer when the garment is worn. 14. The garment of claim 13 wherein the polymer is silicone. 15. The garment of claim 13 wherein the polymer is located adjacent to an edge of the garment. 16. The garment of claim 15 wherein the polymer is located near the waist of the garment. 17. The garment of claim 16 wherein the polymer is located between the pair of stays. 18. The garment of claim 1 wherein the front fabric panel and the back fabric panel are the same fabric. 19. The garment of claim 1, further comprising a wrap panel supported by the front fabric panel, the wrap panel including a V-shaped cut-out near the waist of the garment such that an area of the front panel within the V-shaped cut-out has greater release than the wrap panel surrounding the area. 20. The garment of claim 1, further comprising a support panel attached to the back fabric panel, the support panel being stretchable and providing additional support to the wearer. 21. A garment comprising: a front fabric panel configured to rest on a front midsection of a wearer;a back fabric panel configured to rest on a back of a wearer, said front panel connected to said back panel; anda support panel;a pair of leg openings each leg opening configured for the leg of the wearer to extend therethrough when the garment is worn;wherein the support panel is configured to receive stays, wherein there are no stays disposed in or on the front fabric panel; andwherein the support panel is attached to the back fabric panel whereby the stays form an anchor in the support panel thereby smoothing the front panel over a midsection of the wearer when the garment is worn, the support panel attached so that the support panel rests on the back of the wearer. 25. The garment according to claim 24, wherein the stays are placed on or in the support panel approximately parallel to each other and, when worn, are equidistant from a spine of the wearer. 26. The garment according to claim 24, wherein the stays are located within 60 degrees of an axis bisecting a torso of the wearer, the axis passing through a centerline of the front and back panel of the garment when worn by the wearer. 27. The garment according to claim 24, wherein the stays have a length approximately equal to a length of the support panel, each length measured parallel to a spine of the wearer when the garment is worn by the wearer. 28. The garment according to claim 24 further comprising a silicone feature disposed on and supported by the back fabric panel such that the silicone feature is in contact with the wearer when the garment is worn. 29.
