A suture construction and method for forming a suture construction is disclosed. The construction utilizes a suture having an enlarged central body portion defining a longitudinal passage. First and second ends of the suture are passed through first and second apertures associated with the longitudinal passage to form a pair of loops. Portions of the suture lay parallel to each other within the suture. Application of tension onto the suture construction causes constriction of the longitudinal passage, thus preventing relative motions of the captured portions of the suture.

The method of claim 4, wherein, with the first free end extending through the first longitudinal passage in the suture construct to form the first adjustable loop and with the second free end extending through the second longitudinal passage in the suture construct to form the second adjustable loop, the first free end can be pulled through the first longitudinal passage to decrease the size of the first adjustable loop without decreasing a size of the second adjustable loop and the second free end can be pulled through the second longitudinal passage to decrease the size of the second adjustable loop without decreasing the size of the first adjustable loop. 7. The method of claim 6 further comprising pulling on the second free end of the suture construct so as to decrease the size of the second adjustable loop, wherein the first longitudinal passage and the second longitudinal passage maintain positioning relative to the fixation member during said pulling on the first free end and the second free end of the suture construct. 8. The method of claim 7, wherein said pulling on the first free end of the suture construct and said pulling on the second free end of the suture construct forces the fixation member against the outer surface of the bone. 9. The method of claim 1, wherein the bone tunnel is a first bone tunnel, and wherein said delivering includes also passing the fixation member through a second bone tunnel in a second bone. 10. A method of anchoring suture to bone, comprising: positioning a suture anchor against bone;disposing a suture construct at least partially within a bore in the suture anchor, wherein the suture construct includes a first free end that extends through a first longitudinal passage in the suture construct to form a first adjustable loop and a second free end that extends through a second longitudinal passage in the suture construct to form a second adjustable loop, wherein, with the first free end extending through the first longitudinal passage in the suture construct to form the first adjustable loop and with the second free end extending through the second longitudinal passage in the suture construct to form the second adjustable loop, the first free end can be pulled through the first longitudinal passage to decrease a size of the first adjustable loop and the second free end can be pulled through the second longitudinal passage to decrease a size of the second adjustable loop; andpulling on the first free end of the suture construct and the second free end of the suture construct with the suture construct at least partially disposed within the bore in the suture anchor so as to decrease the size of the first adjustable loop and the size of the second adjustable loop. 11. The method of claim 10, wherein the suture construct comprises a braided body. 12. The method of claim 11, wherein the braided body is braided from 8 to 16 fibers. 13. The method of claim 10, wherein said suture anchor is one of a screw and a plate. 14. The method of claim 10, wherein the first longitudinal passage is separate from the second longitudinal passage in the suture construct. 15. The method of claim 14, wherein, with the first free end extending through the first longitudinal passage in the suture construct to form the first adjustable loop and with the second free end extending through the second longitudinal passage in the suture construct to form the second adjustable loop, the first free end can be pulled through the first longitudinal passage to decrease the size of the first adjustable loop without decreasing the size of the second adjustable loop and the second free end can be pulled through the second longitudinal passage to decrease the size of the second adjustable loop without decreasing the size of the first adjustable loop. 16. The method of claim 10, wherein the first longitudinal passage and the second longitudinal passage in the suture construct are disposed within the bore in the suture anchor. 17. The method of claim 10, wherein said disposing includes making the suture construct extend through the bore in the suture anchor. 18. A method of anchoring suture to bone, comprising: delivering a fixation member through a bone tunnel in a bone to a location outside the bone, wherein said delivering includes passing the fixation member through the bone tunnel in a first profile and thereafter converting the fixation member to a second profile outside the bone for contacting bone along an outer surface of the bone, wherein a suture construct coupled to the fixation member during said delivering includes a suture having a suture body, a first free end, and a second free end, the suture body defining a hollow passage in the suture body that is situated between the first free end and the second free end of the suture, the first free end of the suture extending through a first aperture in the suture body, along a first longitudinal portion of the hollow passage, and out a second aperture in the suture body to form a first adjustable loop, the second free end of the suture extending through a third aperture in the suture body, along a second longitudinal portion of the hollow passage, and out a fourth aperture in the suture body to form a second adjustable loop, wherein the first aperture, the second aperture, the third aperture, and the fourth aperture are all separate apertures in the suture body, wherein, with the first free end extending along the first longitudinal portion of the hollow passage to form the first adjustable loop and with the second free end extending along the second longitudinal portion of the hollow passage to form the second adjustable loop, the first free end can be pulled through the first longitudinal portion of the hollow passage to decrease a size of the first adjustable loop and the second free end can be pulled through the second longitudinal portion of the hollow passage to decrease a size of the second adjustable loop; andpulling on the first free end of the suture construct and the second free end of the suture construct so as to decrease the size of the first adjustable loop and the size of the second adjustable loop and force the fixation member against the outer surface of the bone. 19.
