The boat of claim 1, wherein the stern trailing edge is formed where the running surface meets a transom of the boat and the first pivot axis extends horizontally across the water deflectors. 3. The boat of claim 1, wherein the first pivot axis is non-parallel with the stern trailing edge. 4. The boat of claim 1, wherein the first pivot axis angles inboard toward a vertical plane defined by the centerline so as to deflect water in an outboard direction when the boat moves forward through water. 5. The boat of claim 4, wherein the first pivot axis projected onto the vertical plane forms an acute angle with the vertical plane. 6. The boat of claim 4, wherein the first pivot axis projected onto the vertical plane forms an acute angle of 50 to 85 degrees with the vertical plane. 7. The boat of claim 1, wherein each water deflector is rotatable about a second pivot axis positioned forward the first pivot axis. 8. The boat of claim 1, wherein each water deflector includes: a mounting member mounting the water deflector to the boat;an extension member connected to the mounting member and extending aft the mounting member, the first pivot axis extending across the extension member; anda second pivot axis forming a connection between the mounting member and extension member. 9. The boat of claim 8, wherein the extension member is a substantially horizontally oriented plate having a bottom surface that can be positioned substantially coplanar with the running surface immediately forward the stern trailing edge by rotation about the second pivot axis. 10. The boat of claim 1, wherein each water deflector is rotatable upwardly and downwardly about the first pivot axis. 11. A wake adjustment system for a boat comprising a hull having a bottom side with a running surface extending from a bow to a stern along a longitudinal hull centerline, the running surface having a trailing edge at the stern where water releases from the running surface when the boat moves forward though water, the wake adjustment system comprising: a wake adjustment device mountable to the stern along the centerline, the wake adjustment device including a mounting member at a forward end of the device that can mount the device to the boat;an extension member having a forward edge connected to the mounting member, the extension member extending aft the mounting member to a port side pivot axis extending horizontally across the extension member from an outboard side to an inboard side thereof and a starboard side pivot axis extending horizontally across the extension member from an outboard side to an inboard side thereof;a port side water deflector connected to the extension member at the port side pivot axis, the port side water deflector being rotatable about the port side pivot axis for varying a degree of wake adjustment; anda starboard side water deflector connected to the extension member at the starboard side pivot axis, the starboard side water deflector being rotatable about the starboard side pivot axis for varying a degree of wake adjustment. 12. The wake adjustment system of claim 11, wherein the port side pivot axis and starboard side pivot axis is non-parallel to the forward edge of the extension member. 13. The wake adjustment system of claim 11, wherein the port side pivot axis and starboard side pivot axis angles in an inboard and forward direction so as to allow the water deflectors to deflect water in an outboard direction. 14. The wake adjustment system of claim 11, wherein the port side pivot axis and starboard side pivot axis angles in an inboard and forward direction to form an acute angle with a vertical plane defined by the centerline when the wake adjustment device is mounted to the boat. 15. The wake adjustment system of claim 11, wherein the port side pivot axis and starboard side pivot axis angles in an inboard and forward direction to form an acute angle of 50 to 85 degrees with a vertical plane defined by the centerline when the wake adjustment devices are mounted to the boat. 16. The wake adjustment system of claim 11, wherein each wake adjustment device is rotatable about a second pivot axis positioned forward the port side pivot axis and starboard side pivot axis. 17. The wake adjustment system of claim 11, wherein the wake adjustment device further includes a second pivot axis forming a connection between the mounting member and extension member. 18. The wake adjustment system of claim 11, wherein the extension member is a substantially horizontally oriented plate having a bottom surface that can be positioned substantially coplanar with the running surface immediately forward the stern trailing edge by rotation about a second pivot axis positioned forward the port side pivot axis and starboard side pivot axis. 19. An actuator connection system comprising: an actuator having a first connection point at a first end thereof, a piston arm that is extendable and retractable, and a second connection point on the piston arm; anda boat connection bracket connected to the actuator at the first connection point or second connection point, the boat connection bracket having an actuator connector that is in contact with the actuator and is rotatable when the boat connection bracket is in a fixed position. 20. The actuator connection system of claim 19, wherein the boat connection bracket is attached to a boat. 21. The actuator connection system of claim 19, wherein the boat connection bracket includes a plate with at least one mounting hole passing therethrough and an arm extending outwardly from the plate and the actuator connector is connected to the arm in such a way that the actuator connector is rotatable about an axis passing through the arm. 22. The actuator connection system of claim 19, wherein the actuator connector includes a solid body defining a gap extending through the solid body and having a pair of opposed appendages positioned on opposite sides of the gap, the opposed appendages including an actuator pin receiving hole passing therethrough.
