The process according to claim 1 wherein the protecting group for a carboxylic acid group of the first copolymerizable monomer and second copolymerizable monomer is selected from a trialkylsilyl group, an alkyl group, and an arylalkyl group, or wherein the protecting group for an amino group of the first copolymerizable monomer and second copolymerizable monomer is selected from an acyl group, an arylalkyl group, an alkoxy carbonyl group, and an aryloxycarbonyl group. 7.
