Also in various embodiments, the security panel assembly may be positioned intermediate the bag outside wall and a lining of the bag, and in other embodiments, may also take the form of an expansion panel. Second or secondary locking fasteners are also provided to lock first or primary fasteners to or within the carrying bag, to provide security for compartments and pockets. A strap with one or more security cables, and various locking fasteners, may be attached to the carry bag. Methods for forming such security panel assemblies, expansion panels, and carrying straps are also disclosed.

The security panel assembly of claim 1, wherein the first wire end and the second wire end are each spaced apart from any selected edge of the first and second pluralities of edges further than the spacing from the selected edge of the bent or curved portions of the first and second wire sections which are adjacent the selected edge. 4. The security panel assembly of claim 1, wherein the first and second flexible material layers are comprised of a single, folded flexible material. 5. The security panel assembly of claim 1, wherein the first wire section is comprised of a first single wire routed in the first predetermined pattern and the second wire section is comprised of a second single wire routed in the second predetermined pattern, the second single wire different from the first single wire. 6. The security panel assembly of claim 5, wherein the first flexible material layer is comprised of a first flexible material and the second flexible material layer is comprised of a second flexible material, the second flexible material different from the first flexible material. 7. The security panel assembly of claim 1, wherein the second wire section is arranged to overlay at least part of the first wire section to form the plurality of wire crossings forming a plurality of closed wire shapes. 8. The security panel assembly of claim 1, wherein the first predetermined pattern and the second predetermined pattern are each comprised of one or more patterns selected from the group consisting of: sawtooth, zig-zag, rectangular, sinusoidal, oval, triangular, and combinations thereof. 9. The security panel assembly of claim 1, wherein the first wire section is arranged in the first predetermined pattern in a first plane and the second wire section is arranged in the second predetermined pattern in a second plane, the second plane different from and not coplanar with the first plane. 10. The security panel assembly of claim 1, wherein the angular offset is greater than or equal to thirty degrees (30°) and less than or equal to ninety degrees (90°). 11. The security panel assembly of claim 1, wherein the second predetermined pattern is orthogonal to the first predetermined pattern. 12. The security panel assembly of claim 1, further comprising: at least one tab, flange or panel member for securing the security panel assembly within the interior of the carrying bag. 13. The security panel assembly of claim 1, wherein at least one edge of the first or second plurality of edges forms at least one tab, flange or panel member for securing the security panel assembly within the interior of the carrying bag. 14. The security panel assembly of claim 1, further comprising: a plurality of tabs, flanges or panel members for securing the security panel assembly within one or more seams of the carrying bag. 15. The security panel assembly of claim 1, wherein the security panel assembly is foldable or bendable to conform to a shape of the carrying bag. 16. The security panel assembly of claim 1, wherein at least one of the first or second wire sections is comprised of a substantially cut-resistant polymeric yarn or fiber. 17. The security panel assembly of claim 1, wherein the plurality of wire crossings form a plurality of closed wire shapes comprising at least one shape selected from the group consisting of: square, rectangular, diamond, rhomboid, parallelogram, triangular, and combinations thereof. 18. The security panel assembly of claim 17, wherein the second flexible material layer is coupled to the first flexible material layer with a plurality of stitches within one or more of the closed wire shapes of the plurality a closed wire shapes and without crossing the wire matrix. 19. The security panel assembly of claim 18, wherein the plurality of stitches have at least one stitch pattern selected from the group consisting of: a rectangular stitch pattern, a circular stitch pattern, a diamond stitch pattern, a bar tack stitch pattern; and combinations thereof. 20. The security panel assembly of claim 1, wherein the second flexible material layer is coupled to the first flexible material layer with a plurality of stitches having a predetermined pattern. 21. The security panel assembly of claim 1, further comprising: at least one stabilizing anchor coupled to at least one bent or curved portion of the first or second pluralities of bent or curved portions. 22. The security panel assembly of claim 1, wherein the security panel assembly is comprised of a plurality of subpanels, each subpanel having a section of a plurality of sections of the wire matrix. 23. The security panel assembly of claim 22, wherein the security panel assembly is foldable between adjacent subpanels into a closed or compressed configuration and into an open or expanded configuration. 24. The security panel assembly of claim 22, wherein the security panel assembly is foldable between adjacent subpanels to form a gusseted configuration. 25. The security panel assembly of claim 1, wherein the security panel assembly is foldable into a gusset to form an expansion panel of the carrying bag. 26.
