An improved system and method for defining an event based upon an object location and a user-defined zone and managing the conveyance of object location event information among computing devices where object location events are defined in terms of a condition based upon a relationship between user-defined zone information and object location information. One or more location information sources are associated with an object to provide the object location information. One or more user-defined zones are defined on a map and one or more object location events are defined. The occurrence of an object location event produces object location event information that is conveyed to users based on user identification codes. Accessibility to object location information, zone information, and object location event information is based upon an object location information access code, a zone information access code, and an object location event information access code, respectively.

The method of claim 1, further including the step of enabling the Driver administrator to view the first or second group event information on a display of the computing device after logging into the administrator account. 3. The method of claim 2, further including the step of enabling the Driver administrator to view locations of the first or second vehicle en route on a map after logging into the administrator account. 4. The method of claim 1, further including the step of receiving one or messages when the first or second vehicle passes over a boundary. 6. The method of claim 1, further including the step of receiving one or more messages when a sensed measure from a sensor or a range of distance determined based on the location information is exceeded. 7. The method of claim 1, wherein the Driver administrator is enabled to specify an access privileges for a third authorized user having a third user account in the DBMSA after logging into the administrator account, wherein the access privilege includes the privilege to specify an event condition for the sub-group that is based on (a) a location of the first or second vehicle or (b) information received from a sensor after the third authorized user logs into the third user account. 8. The method of claim 7, wherein the third authorized user controls access privilege of one or more drivers after logging into the third user account. 9. The method of claim 1, wherein the first vehicle is identified by a first vehicle ID (VID) and the second vehicle is identified by a second VID, and wherein the notification includes information received from a sensor associated with the first or second VID. 10. The method of claim 9, wherein the information received from the sensor include speed. 11. The method of claim 1, wherein the first vehicle is identified by a first vehicle ID (VID) and the second vehicle is identified by a second VID, wherein the Driver administrator is enabled to associate a zone ID with the first or second VIDs after logging into the administrator account, wherein the notification includes the zone ID. 12. The method of claim 1, wherein the ELD interface allows the driver to select a stored file from a plurality of stored files before editing the file. 13. The method of claim 1, wherein the ELD interface allows the driver to adjust characteristics of a displayed map. 14. The method of claim 1, further including the steps of receiving a file originated at the first or second ELD that contains (1) shipping information associated with one or more objects identified by object IDs inside the first or second vehicles or (2) shipping information associated with one or more trailers identified by trailer IDs that are attached to the first or second vehicle. 15. The method of claim 1, wherein the notification includes one or more locations of where an event occurs, the event occurring based on (1) information received from a sensor in the first or second ELD or (2) location information received from the GPS device of the first or second ELD. 16. The method of claim 1, further including the steps of classifying a third authorized user identified by a third UID in the group based on a second role in the organization or the company as a person who specifies a driver sub-group and a vehicle sub-group and associates the vehicle sub-group with the driver sub-group. 17.
