The electric storage apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the heat transfer member comprises a thermal conductivity in a range from 0.2 W/m·K to 5.0 W/m·K. 4. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the heat transfer member comprises an electrically-insulating, synthetic resin. 5. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the heat transfer member is configured to deform elastically, and comprises material having higher thermal conductivity than air. 6. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the synthetic resin comprises at least one member selected from the group consisting of nylon resin, acrylic resin, silicone resin, polyester resin, and polyolefin resin. 7. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising: a cooling member in contact with the heat transfer member. 8. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the electric storage element comprises a stack type electric storage element in which positive and negative plates are layered via a separator. 9. An electric storage device comprising: a case comprising a plurality of walls including: a terminal wall, an electrode terminal being formed on the terminal wall, the terminal wall including a long side and a short side;a bottom wall opposite to the terminal wall, the bottom wall including a long side and a short side;a short sidewall connecting the short sides of the terminal wall and the bottom wall; anda long sidewall connecting the long sides of the terminal wall and the bottom wall, the long sidewall comprising a greatest area of the areas of the plurality of walls; andan electric storage element which is housed in the case and separated from an inner surface of the short sidewall, the electric storage element being in electrical connection with the electrode terminal; anda sheet-shaped heat transfer member which is in contact with an outer surface of the short sidewall, the sheet-shaped heat transfer member contacting substantially an entirety of the outer surface of the short sidewall,wherein a first distance, in a direction intersecting the bottom wall and parallel to the short sidewall and the long sidewall, between an inner surface of the bottom wall and the electric storage element is less than a second distance, in a direction parallel to the terminal wall and the long sidewall and intersecting the short sidewall, between the inner surface of the short sidewall and the electric storage element. 10. The electric storage device according to claim 9, wherein the electric storage element comprises a stack type electric storage element in which positive and negative plates are layered via a separator. 11. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 1, wherein an upper edge of the sheet-shaped heat transfer member is substantially aligned with an upper edge of the short sidewall. 12. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the electric storage element comprises a winding type electric storage element in which positive and negative plates that are layered via a separator are wound. 13. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 12, wherein the electric storage element comprises a plurality of electric storage elements which are arranged in a direction which intersects the long sidewall. 14. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the heat transfer member comprises a metal plate. 15. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the heat transfer member is bonded to the short sidewall by an adhesive layer. 16. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 7, wherein the cooling member comprises a metal plate. 17. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 7, wherein the cooling member comprises: a body portion for housing a liquid coolant;an inlet port formed on the body portion, for introducing the liquid coolant into the body portion; andan outlet port formed on the body portion, for draining the liquid coolant out of the body portion. 18. The electric storage apparatus according to claim 7, wherein the sheet-shaped heat transfer member comprises an outer face which faces away from the short sidewall, and an outer surface of the cooling member comprises a metal and contacts the outer face of the sheet-shaped heat transfer member. 19.
