A printing system for a vending machine comprising: a transceiver associated with the vending machine,a remote server, wherein the remote server is operative to transmit remote server data to the transceiver for printing onto a container comprising a bag, wherein the remote server data includes information relating to at least one product stored in the vending machine, which at least one product is selectively dispensable from the vending machine in the bag,a data store local to the vending machine, operative to receive and store the remote server data, anda printer housed within the vending machine,a shuttle, wherein the shuttle is operative to position the bag at a printer station in the vending machine, wherein the printer station comprises a surface within the vending machine,wherein the printer is operative to print onto the bag information or other indicia based at least in part on the remote server data, while the bag is positioned against the surface in the vending machine and prior to dispense of the bag from the vending machine. 8. The printing system of claim 7 wherein the printer comprises a print head, wherein the print head comprises a plurality of ink cartridges, each of which ink cartridges are operable to print simultaneously. 9. The printing system of claim 8 wherein at least two of the plurality of ink cartridges are vertically offset from one another, wherein the print head is operative to simultaneously print on the bag in two vertically disposed surface areas. 10. The printing system of claim 7 wherein a label is affixed to the bag and the printer is operative to print on the label. 11. The printing system of claim 7 wherein the bag includes a surface area that has texture that promotes adhesion of ink in the surface area, wherein the printer is operative to print onto the surface area. 12. The printing system of claim 7, wherein the vending machine includes a user interface,wherein the user interface is operative to receive user input data from a vending machine user,wherein the printer is operative to print at least a portion of the user input data on the bag. 13.
