A container configured to be stacked adjacent to a second container is provided. The container includes a sidewall having a first end, an end wall having a peripheral edge, a seam coupling the peripheral edge of the end wall to the first end of the sidewall, and an alignment feature coupled to the seam. The alignment feature includes an inner surface. The alignment feature is positioned relative to the seam such that, when the container is stacked adjacent to the second container, the inner surface of the alignment feature contacts an outer surface of a seam of the second container, the contact resisting lateral movement of the container relative to the second container.

1. A metal container adapted to be stacked adjacent to a second metal container, the container comprising: a metal sidewall, the metal sidewall having a first end and a second end and defining a longitudinal axis; a first metal end wall; a first seam coupling the first metal end wall to the first end of the metal sidewall, the first seam comprising: an inner segment extending in the longitudinal direction away from the first metal end wall; an outer segment comprising an outer surface extending in the longitudinal direction way from the first metal end wall, wherein the first end of the metal sidewall is positioned radially between the inner segment and the outer segment of the first seam; and a shoulder segment, the shoulder segment extending in the radial direction between the inner segment and the outer segment of the first seam; and an alignment rim comprising an outer surface extending longitudinally away from the first metal end wall from a position outward in the longitudinal direction from both the shoulder segment and the first end of the metal sidewall, wherein the shoulder segment directly transitions into the alignment rim in a direction extending longitudinally away from the first metal end wall and away from the second end of the sidewall, and wherein the outer surface of the alignment rim is contiguous with the shoulder segment of the first seam, wherein the first metal end wall, the inner segment of the first seam, the outer segment of the first seam, the shoulder segment of the first seam and the alignment rim are formed from a single continuous piece of metal. 2. The metal container of claim 1, wherein the first seam is a double seam formed by compressing the material of the first metal end wall together with material of the metal sidewall. 3. The metal container of claim 2, wherein the first metal end wall includes a plurality of concentric beads located radially inside of the seam. 4. A metal container for stacking with another container, the metal container comprising: a metal sidewall having a first edge and a second edge, the metal sidewall defining a central axis;a first metal end wall;a seam sealing the first edge of the metal sidewall to the first metal end wall;wherein a continuous, single piece of metal extends from the first metal end wall into a first alignment rim segment that is substantially parallel to and facing towards the central axis, the single piece of metal extends from the first alignment rim segment into a second alignment rim segment that is substantially parallel to and facing away from the central axis, the single piece of metal extends-from the second alignment rim segment directly into a shoulder segment of the seam, the shoulder segment of the seam is substantially perpendicular to the central axis and is positioned below the first metal end wall such that the first metal end wall is located between the shoulder segment and the second edge of the metal sidewall, and the single piece of metal extends from the shoulder segment around the first edge of the metal sidewall, thereby enclosing the first edge of the metal sidewall. 5. The metal container of claim 4, wherein the first alignment rim segment and the second alignment rim segment are positioned longitudinally outward from the shoulder segment. 6. The metal container of claim 4 further comprising one or more concentric beads in the first metal end wall above the first alignment rim segment. 7. The metal container of claim 4 further comprising a second metal end wall hermetically sealed to the second edge of the metal sidewall. 8. The metal container of claim 4 further comprising a protective lining located on an inner surface of the metal sidewall adapted to prevent corrosion of the metal caused by contents of the metal container.
