The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the apparatus is configured such that the at least one message and the at least portion of the interface are displayed in a same virtual display layer when the magnitude of the pressure being detected on the touch screen on the at least one message is less than the first magnitude threshold, and the at least portion of the interface is displayed in a first virtual display layer and the at least one message is displayed in a second virtual display layer when the magnitude of the pressure being detected on the touch screen on the at least one message is greater than the first magnitude threshold and is less than the second magnitude threshold. 3. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein the apparatus is configured such that at least a portion of the first virtual display layer is staggered relative to at least a portion of the second virtual display layer. 4. The apparatus of claim 3, wherein the apparatus is configured such that at least one of: said touch screen includes a touch interface and a display;said touch screen is a combination of a touch interface and a display;said touch screen is on a front face of the apparatus;said touch screen is on a back face of the apparatus;said messages take a form of a plurality of message items when displayed in the list;said messages take a form of a plurality of message summaries when displayed in the list;said messages take a form of a plurality of message parts when displayed in the list;said The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the apparatus is configured such that the at least portion of the interface is displayed to appear to be increasing in depth as compared to the at least portion of the at least one message, for cueing a user as to an availability of an access to the at least part of the at least one message. 7. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the apparatus is configured such that the at least part of the at least one message is increased in size, for cueing a user as to an availability of an access to the display of the at least one message. 8. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the apparatus is configured such that, based on the increase in the magnitude of the pressure being detected on the touch screen on the at least one message, content of the at least portion of the interface other than the at least one message is decreased in size. 9. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the apparatus is configured such that, based on the increase in the magnitude of the pressure being detected on the touch screen on the at least one message, the at least portion of the interface is staggered with respect to the at least portion of the at least one message. 10. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the apparatus is configured such that, when the magnitude of the pressure being detected on the touch screen on the at least one message is greater than the second magnitude threshold, the at least one message is distorted in addition to the sharpening and the magnification of the at least part of the at least one message. 11. The apparatus of claim 10, wherein the apparatus is configured such that the distortion occurs before the sharpening and the magnification. 12. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the apparatus is configured such that the at least part of the at least one message includes a preview of the at least one message. 13. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the apparatus is configured such that, when the cessation of the pressure has been detected while the magnitude of the pressure being detected on the touch screen on the least one message is greater than the second magnitude threshold and is less than the third magnitude threshold, the at least part of the at least one message is no longer displayed. 14. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the apparatus is configured such that, when another slide gesture is detected as being applied to the touch screen on the at least part of the at least one message: the at least part of the at least one message is moved at a first rate that is different than a second rate of at least one object that is at a greater depth as compared to the at least part of the at least one message. 15. The apparatus of claim 14, wherein the apparatus is configured such that the at least part of the at least one message is moved at the first rate that is greater than the second rate of the at least one object. 16. The apparatus of claim 15, wherein the apparatus is configured such that a border of the at least one object is colored, for cueing a user as to a status of the another slide gesture. 17. A non-transitory computer-readable media storing computer instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a mobile device, cause the mobile device to: display a list of messages via an interface such that each of the messages in the list are in a same virtual display layer;detect a pressure being applied to a touch screen on at least one of the messages in the list;when a magnitude of the pressure being detected on the touch screen on the at least one message is less than a first magnitude threshold, open the at least one message after a cessation of the pressure has been detected;when the magnitude of the pressure being detected on the touch screen on the at least one message is greater than the first magnitude threshold and is less than a second magnitude threshold: display at least portion of the interface in a first virtual display layer and at least a portion of the at least one message in a second virtual display layer that is staggered with respect to the first virtual display layer;based on an increase in the magnitude of the pressure being detected on the touch screen: increase a blurring of the at least portion of the interface other than the at least one message, and increase a magnification of the at least portion of the at least one message, such that the at least portion of the interface appears to be increasing in depth and the at least portion of the at least one message appears to be decreasing in depth, andbased on a decrease in the magnitude of the pressure being detected on the touch screen: decrease the blurring of the at least portion of the interface other than the at least one message, and decrease the magnification of the at least portion of the at least one message, such that the at least portion of the interface appears to be decreasing in depth and the at least portion of the at least one message appears to be increasing in depth;when the magnitude of the pressure being detected on the touch screen on the at least one message is greater than the second magnitude threshold and is less than a third magnitude threshold: display at least part of the interface and at least part of the at least one message in different virtual display layers,sharpen and magnify the at least part of the at least one message,based on another increase in the magnitude of the pressure being detected on the touch screen, increase a size of the at least part of the at least one message,based on another decrease in the magnitude of the pressure being detected on the touch screen, decrease the size of the at least part of the at least one message, andwhen a slide gesture is detected as a component of a continuous gesture that includes the pressure being detected on the touch screen: display a menu with one or more items that each correspond with at least one action in connection with the least one message; andwhen the magnitude of the pressure being detected on the touch screen on the at least one message is greater than the third magnitude threshold, open the at least one message. 18. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 17, wherein the increase and the decrease of the blurring and the magnification cue a user regarding a status of the magnitude of the pressure in connection with a particular gesture in advance of a completion of the particular gesture after the magnitude of the pressure being detected on the touch screen on the at least one message is greater than the third magnitude threshold. 19. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 17, wherein the increase and the decrease of the blurring and the magnification cue a user as to an availability of the display of the at least part of the at least one message, and the increase of the size of the at least part of the at least one message cues the user as to an availability of the opening of the at least one message. 20. An apparatus, comprising: at least one non-transitory memory storing instructions and a plurality of applications;a touch screen;a vibrator; andone or more processors in communication with the at least one non-transitory memory, the touch screen, and the vibrator, wherein the one or more processors execute the instructions to: display a list of messages via an interface such that each of the messages in the list are in a same virtual display layer;detect a gesture being applied to the touch screen on at least one of the messages in the list, the gesture including a continuous static gesture;during a first pressure-based touch state of the gesture, display at least a portion of at least one other message in a first virtual display layer and at least a portion of the at least one message in a second virtual display layer that is mis-aligned with respect to the first virtual display layer;during the first pressure-based touch state of the gesture and based on an increase in a pressure being detected on the touch screen: increase a blurring of at least a portion of the first virtual layer, and increase a magnification of the at least a portion of the second virtual layer;during the first pressure-based touch state of the gesture the gesture and based on a decrease in the pressure being detected on the touch screen: decrease the blurring of the at least portion of the first virtual layer, and decrease the magnification of the at least portion of the second virtual layer;during a second pressure-based touch state of the gesture, output feedback that is touch-perceptible;during the second pressure-based touch state of the gesture, display a view of at least a part of the at least one message;during the second pressure-based touch state of the gesture and based on another increase in the pressure being detected on the touch screen, increase a size of the view;during the second pressure-based touch state of the gesture and based on another decrease in the pressure being detected on the touch screen, decrease the size of the view;during a third pressure-based touch state of the gesture, output additional feedback that is touch-perceptible; andduring the third pressure-based touch state of the gesture, display the at least one message. 21. The apparatus of claim 20, wherein the apparatus is configured such that the first pressure-based touch state precedes the second pressure-based touch state and the second pressure-based touch state precedes the third pressure-based touch state. 22. The apparatus of claim 20, wherein the apparatus is configured such that the increase of the blurring and the magnification, and the increase in the size of the view, all cue a user regarding a status of a level of the pressure of the continuous static gesture. 23. The apparatus of claim 22, wherein the apparatus is configured such that the increase of the blurring and the magnification cue the user as to the level of the pressure of the continuous static gesture in terms of reaching the second pressure-based touch state of the gesture. 24. The apparatus of claim 23, wherein the apparatus is configured such that the increase of the size of the view cues the user as to the level of the pressure of the continuous static gesture in terms of reaching the third pressure-based touch state of the gesture. 25. An apparatus, comprising: at least one non-transitory memory storing instructions and a plurality of applications;a touch screen;a vibrator; andone or more processors in communication with the at least one non-transitory memory, the touch screen, and the vibrator, wherein the one or more processors execute the instructions to cause the apparatus to: display a list of messages such that each of the messages in the list are in a same virtual display layer;detect a gesture being applied to the touch screen on at least one of the messages in the list;after a change to a first touch state is detected, display at least a portion of at least one other message in the list in a first virtual display layer and at least a portion of the at least one message in a second virtual display layer that is mis-aligned with respect to the first virtual display layer;after the change to the first touch state is detected and based on an increase in a pressure being detected on the touch screen: increase a blurring of the at least portion of the at least one other message, and increase a magnification of the at least portion of the at least one message;after the change to the first touch state is detected and based on a decrease in the pressure being detected on the touch screen: decrease the blurring of the at least portion of the at least one other message, and decrease the magnification of the at least portion of the at least one message;after a change to a second touch state is detected, display at least part of the at least one message;after the change to the second touch state is detected and based on another increase in the pressure being detected on the touch screen, increase a size of the at least part of the at least one message;after the change to the second touch state is detected and based on another decrease in the pressure being detected on the touch screen, decrease the size of the at least part of the at least one message; andafter a particular change in the gesture is detected after the change to the second touch state is detected, display a menu with one or more items that each correspond with at least one action in connection with the least one message. 26. The apparatus of claim 25, wherein the apparatus is configured such that the particular change in the gesture includes a slide gesture that is a gesture component of the gesture. 27. The apparatus of claim 26, wherein the apparatus is configured such that the gesture also includes a continuous static gesture component corresponding with the first touch state and the second touch state. 28. The apparatus of claim 25, wherein the apparatus is configured such that the first touch state precedes the second touch state, and the first and second touch states are pressure-based touch states. 29. The apparatus of claim 25, wherein the apparatus is configured such that a third touch state precedes the first touch state for displaying the at least one message, and a fourth touch state is provided also for displaying the at least one message. 30. The apparatus of claim 25, wherein the apparatus is configured such that the increase and the decrease of the blurring and the magnification cue a user regarding a status of a level of the pressure of the gesture in advance of a completion of the gesture.
