A system for conveying proppant includes a conveyor assembly having a conveyor belt that receives proppant from one or more containers having proppant stored therein. The system also includes a conveyor auxiliary unit connected to an end of the conveyor assembly having one or more joints to enable expansion and collapse of the conveyor belt from the conveyor assembly. The system further includes a proppant chute to direct the proppant from the conveyor belt into a blending hopper, the proppant chute being positioned at a higher elevation than an inlet of the blending hopper.

1. A system to convey proppant at a fracking site, the system comprising: a conveyor auxiliary unit having a proximate end portion and a distal end portion, the proximate end portion movably connected to a conveyor assembly through a pivotable joint, the pivotable joint permitting expansion of the conveyor auxiliary unit away from the conveyor assembly and collapse of the conveyor auxiliary unit toward the conveyor assembly;a conveyor belt extending along at least portions of the conveyor assembly and the conveyor auxiliary unit; anda proppant chute positioned adjacent the distal end portion of the conveyor auxiliary unit, the proppant chute having an opening to direct the proppant from the conveyor belt into a blending hopper when positioned adjacent the distal end portion of the conveyor auxiliary unit, the proppant chute to be positioned at a higher elevation than an inlet of the blending hopper such that proppant moving into the proppant chute exits the proppant chute into the blending hopper, the pivotable joint also permitting the conveyor auxiliary unit to expand to a higher elevation than the blending hopper while the conveyor assembly is positioned relatively close to a ground plane, thereby enabling gravity feed of proppant from the conveyor belt to the blending hopper. 2. The system as defined in claim 1, comprising a tub positioned upstream of the inlet of the blending hopper to direct the proppant from the proppant chute into the blending hopper, wherein the tub is at a lower elevation than the proppant chute. 3. The system as defined in claim 1, wherein the conveyor auxiliary unit collapses nearly adjacent to the conveyor assembly for compact storage during transportation thereof. 4. The system as defined in claim 1, further comprising a plurality of proppant containers to be arranged in a side-by-side configuration such that one proppant container has a side wall positioned substantially in parallel to a side wall of another proppant container when positioned as a series of proppant containers along a horizontal length of the conveyor assembly, the plurality of proppant containers positioned to allow proppant from the plurality of proppant containers to flow out of each of the plurality of proppant containers and onto the conveyor belt, the proppant containers of the plurality of proppant containers being any modular containers capable of transporting proppant. 5. The system as defined in claim 4, wherein a vertical position of the proppant chute relative to a ground plane is changed as the conveyor auxiliary unit is expanded or collapsed via the pivotable joint. 6. The system as defined in claim 5, further comprising a controller including one or more sensors to measure a weight of the proppant, a speed of the conveyor belt, a rate of discharge from the plurality of containers, or a combination thereof. 7. A system to convey proppant at a fracking site, the system comprising: a conveyor auxiliary unit having a proximate end portion and a distal end portion, the proximate end portion movably connected to a conveyor assembly through a pivotable joint, the pivotable joint permitting expansion of the conveyor auxiliary unit away from the conveyor assembly and collapse of the conveyor auxiliary unit toward the conveyor assembly;a conveyor belt extending along at least portions of the conveyor assembly and the conveyor auxiliary unit;a proppant chute positioned adjacent the distal end portion of the conveyor auxiliary unit, the proppant chute having an opening to direct the proppant from the conveyor belt into a blending hopper when positioned adjacent the distal end portion of the conveyor auxiliary unit, the proppant chute to be positioned at a higher elevation than an inlet of the blending hopper such that proppant moving into the proppant chute exits the proppant chute into the blending hopper, the pivotable joint also permitting the conveyor auxiliary unit to expand to a higher elevation than the blending hopper while the conveyor assembly is positioned relatively close to a ground plane, thereby enabling gravity feed of proppant from the conveyor belt to the blending hopper;a plurality of proppant containers arranged in a side-by-side configuration such that one proppant container has a side wall positioned substantially in parallel to a side wall of another proppant container when positioned as a series of proppant containers along a horizontal length of the conveyor assembly, the plurality of proppant containers positioned to allow proppant from the plurality of proppant containers to flow out of each of the plurality of proppant containers and onto the conveyor belt, the proppant containers of the plurality of proppant containers being any modular containers capable of transporting proppant; anda controller including one or more sensors to measure a weight of the proppant, a speed of the conveyor belt, a rate of discharge from the plurality of containers, or a combination thereof. 8. The system as defined in claim 7, wherein the conveyor auxiliary unit collapses nearly adjacent to the conveyor assembly for compact storage during transportation thereof. 9. The system as defined in claim 8, comprising a tub positioned upstream of the inlet of the blending hopper to direct the proppant from the proppant chute into the blending hopper, wherein the tub is at a lower elevation than the proppant chute. 10. The system as defined in claim 7, wherein a vertical position of the proppant chute relative to a ground plane is changed as the conveyor auxiliary unit is expanded or collapsed via the pivotable joint.
