The system of claim 1, wherein the sensor electronics are further configured to calibrate the sensor data based on an external reference value. 3. The system of claim 1, wherein the signal response measurement is independent of an external reference value. 4. The system of claim 1, wherein the signal response measurement is performed by the implantable continuous glucose sensor. 5. The system of claim 1, wherein the signal response measurement utilizes at least one electrode of the implantable continuous glucose sensor. 6. The system of claim 1, wherein the sensor electronics are configured to request an external reference value in response to the measurement exceeding a threshold. 7. The system of claim 1, wherein the sensor electronics are configured to calibrate the sensor data at a frequency selected based on the signal response measurement. 8. The system of claim 1, wherein the sensor electronics are configured to calibrate the sensor data in response to the signal response measurement exceeding a threshold. 9. The system of claim 1, wherein the sensor electronics are configured to re-calibrate the sensor data based on the signal response measurement. 10. The system of claim 1, wherein the sensor electronics are configured to determine a sensor stability based on the signal response measurement. 11. The system of claim 10, wherein the sensor electronics are configured to selectively display the sensor data based on the determined sensor stability.
