A hygiene article including a nonwoven web having nanofibers. The hygiene articles include diapers, training pants, adult incontinence pads, catamenials products, tampons, personal cleansing articles, and personal care articles. The nanofiber webs can be used as a barrier, wipe, or absorbent material. Particularly, the nanofiber web is used in a diaper as a barrier-on-core, outercover, and/or leg cuff. It may also be used as a wipe.

1. A hygiene article comprising: a nonwoven web, wherein the nonwoven web comprises a layer comprising at least about 25% nanofibers with diameters less than one micron, andwherein the nonwoven web has a mean pore diameter of less than about 15 microns, andwherein the coefficient of variation in pore
1. A hygiene article comprising: a nonwoven web, wherein the nonwoven web comprises a layer comprising at least about 25% nanofibers with diameters less than one micron, andwherein the nonwoven web has a mean pore diameter of less than about 15 microns, andwherein the coefficient of variation in pore diameter is less than 20%. 2. The hygiene article of claim 1, wherein the nonwoven web comprises a polymer, wherein the polymer is selected from the group consisting of polyolefins, polyesters, polyamides, biodegradable polymers, polyurethanes, polystyrenes, and combinations thereof. 3. The hygiene article of claim 2, wherein the polymer is polypropylene. 4. The hygiene article of claim 1, wherein the layer comprises at least about 35% of nanofibers having a diameter of less than one micron. 5. The hygiene article of claim 1, wherein the nanofiber layer has a basis weight of from about 0.5 gsm to about 30 gsm. 6. The hygiene article of claim 1, further comprising combining the layer of nanofibers with one or more layers of spunbond fibers to form a composite nonwoven web. 7. The hygiene article of claim 6, wherein the composite nonwoven web has a basis weight of from about 5 to about 100 gsm. 8. The hygiene article of claim 1, wherein the hygiene article is selected from the group consisting of diapers, training pants, adult incontinence pads, catamenials products, and personal care wipes. 9. The hygiene article of claim 1, wherein the hygiene article is a diaper. 10. The hygiene article of claim 1, wherein the nonwoven web comprising nanofibers is a barrier layer. 11. The hygiene article of claim 10, wherein the barrier layer is an outercover. 12. The hygiene article of claim 10, wherein the barrier layer comprises at least part of a leg cuff. 13. The hygiene article of claim 1, wherein the nonwoven web comprising nanofibers provides controlled delivery of a material. 14. The hygiene article of claim 1, wherein the nonwoven web is made by a process comprising the steps of: providing a polymer in the form of a polymeric melt;forming an elongated hollow polymeric film from the polymeric melt; andusing a fluid to form multiple nanofibers from the elongated hollow polymeric film, wherein the elongated hollow polymeric film comprises a weakened portion. 15. The hygiene article of claim 14, wherein the elongated hollow polymeric film is not circular in shape. 16. The hygiene article of claim 1, wherein the nonwoven web has a mean pore diameter of less than about 5 microns.
