The backup wall connector of claim 1 wherein said third region has an array of apertures formed therein, said array of apertures defining both said form connector seat positions and said brick tie engagement positions; the apertures of said array of apertures are of uniform size and have a diameter that corresponds to the size of, and that accommodates, either of (a) the diameter of a brick-tie wire; and (b) a form connector dowel. 5. The backup wall connector of claim 1 wherein said array of apertures of said third region of said first leg includes at least a first set of brick-tie wire sized apertures and a second set of brick-tie wire sized apertures, said first set of brick-tie wire sized apertures being more offset from said flange than is said second set of brick-tie wire sized apertures. 6. The backup wall connector of claim 5 wherein said array of apertures extends both vertically and lengthwise. 7. The backup wall connector of claim 1 wherein said flange has upper and lower veneer attachment fittings in which to secure mechanical fasteners. 8. The backup wall connector of claim 1 wherein said second region of said first leg has a lengthwise extent between said first region of said first leg and said third region of said first leg, said lengthwise extent of said second region of said first leg corresponding to an insulation thickness and said second region is predominantly perforate. 9. The backup wall connector of claim 8 wherein said second region is more perforate than is said first region. 10. The backup wall connector of claim 1 wherein said second region of said first leg has an array of apertures formed therethrough, said array of apertures in said second region being different from said anchor fitting and being different from said connector seat positions. 11. The backup wall connector of claim 10 wherein: said third region of said first leg has an array of apertures formed therein, said array of apertures of said third region of said first leg defining both said form connector seat positions and said brick tie engagement positions; andsaid array of apertures of said third region of said first leg extends both vertically and lengthwise. 12. The backup wall connector of claim 11 wherein the apertures of said array are of uniform size, and each has a diameter that corresponds to the diameter of, and admits entry of either of a brick tie wire and a form connector dowel. 13. The backup wall connector of claim 11 wherein said apertures of said array of apertures of said third region of said first leg are smaller than said apertures of said array of apertures of said second region of said first leg and smaller than said anchor fitting. 14. The backup wall connector of claim 1 and a wall form member of the backup wall, wherein: said wall form member is made of a thermal insulation material;said wall form member has a through thickness of said thermal insulation material;said backup wall connector being a tie retaining apparatus installed to penetrate through the thermal insulation material;said first end of said first leg of said backup wall connector being located inside said wall form member of the backup wall;said second leg of said backup wall connector being located outside said wall form member of the backup wall;said third region of said first leg including an array of indexing fittings, said array of indexing fittings defining said choice of form connector seat positions and said choice of brick-tie engagement positions, said indexing fittings being located outwardly proud of said thermal insulation material; andsaid second leg being located further outwardly proud of said thermal insulation material than said indexing fittings. 15. The backup wall connector of claim 1 and a wall form against which to form a cementitious backup wall, wherein: said first region of said first leg extends inwardly of the wall form for the cementitious material into the cementitious wall;said second region of said first leg of said backup wall connector passes through said wall form;said third region of said first leg is located outwardly of said second region of said first leg;said first region of said first leg includes a wall anchor embedded in the cementitious material; andsaid third region of said first leg has a wall tie seat defining multiple wall tie installation positions located outwardly of said wall form of said cementitious backup wall. 16. The backup wall connector and wall form of claim 15 wherein said second region of said first leg has a lengthwise extent between said first region of said first leg and said second region of said first leg corresponding to an insulation layer thickness, and said second region is predominantly perforate. 17. The backup wall connector and wall form of claim 15 wherein said third region has an array of apertures of a uniform size, said array of apertures defining location positions for backup wall connectors and also defining said multiple wall tie positions, said array of apertures extending both away from the backup wall form and vertically. 18.
