The braking system of claim 3, further comprising selecting, by the controller, the second output, which is a high torque output, from the selective gearbox in response to the load on the electromechanical actuator being above the threshold value. 5. The braking system of claim 4, wherein the housing, the rotor, and the selective gearbox are coaxial relative to the axis of rotation. 6. The braking system of claim 4, further comprising commanding, by the controller, a mechanism to engage the high speed output or the high torque output. 7. The braking system of claim 3, wherein the selective gearbox has a gear ratio of at least 25 to 1. 8. The braking system of claim 1, wherein the threshold value is 20% of a capacity of the electromechanical actuator.
