대량의 CO2 배출산업으로서 건설재료 부문의 획기적인 CO2 저감과 미래대응형 기술개발이 필요하다. 탄소저감형 건설재료 기획을 통하여 ‘탄소저감형 건설재료 기술개발 연구단’을 비롯한 2개의 연구단과 2개의 일반과제를 우선순위와 함께 제안하였으며, 본 기술개발을 통하여 건설재료 산업에서 약 1,000만t-CO2/년 이상의 CO2 저감이 가능할 것으로 추산되어 건설재료 산업의 탄소배출량 30% 저감에 기여할 것이다.
