This study developed 4 types of questionnaires for the National Survey of Multicultural Families 2012 and carefully analyzed the current status and policy demands of multicultural families in Korea based on the results of the National Survey of Multicultural Families 2012 which was conducted by Statistics Korea on immigration by marriage and naturalized citizens, their spouses and children aged 9 to 24 years in 15,341 multicultural families residing nationwide in July, 2012.

Fourth, the employment rate of female immigration by marriage and naturalized citizens in 2012 is increased compared to 2009, yet the quality of jobs available for them is relatively worse than all women.
Fifth, immigration by marriage and naturalized citizens experienced social discrimination against them were increased compared to 2009. In addition, social networks were weakened and social isolation was aggravated.
Sixth, korean spouses have more conservative perspectives for gender role and multicultural society than their wives.
Seventh, the percentage of school attendance of children in multicultural families in 2012 is lower than all students and the gap between them becomes greater in schools of higher grade.
Eighth, children in multicultural families have a smaller chance of the opportunities for private education and have a weaker ability of self-directed study than the average student.
Ninth, children in multicultural families are at risk of school violence and discrimination from friends and their relationship with friends is also weak.

Based on the above results, this study suggests to improve related policies such as legal support to prevent discrimination against multicultural families and to increase the acceptance of multiculturalism. In addition, the distinguish support services must be made by characteristics of them to response to the various policy demands for multicultural families.
