○ 가시파래 추출물의 원료표준화

○ Standardization of Enteromorpha prolifera extracts
Enteromorpha prolifera is a plant belonging to the family of the Ulvaceae, rich in fiber and reported to be effective in lowering cholesterol and improving constipation. We have produced a low-molecular-weight sulfated polysaccharide by improving the process three times in total, and confirmed the analysis method of Rhamnose, an indicator substance, and the change of the content by process.
○ Functional assessment of Enteromorpha prolifera extracts
Enteromorpha prolifera extracts were used for the bioactivity evaluation. According to the cell proliferation in vitro study using normal spleen cells, the cell proliferation and the secretion of immune-enhancement-associated cytokines (TNF-a, IFN-γ) increased dose-dependently. According to the first efficacy evaluation in vivo studies, the secretion ability of Th-1 type cytokine of Enteromorpha prolifera extract increased, and the extract had the activating function of the cellular immune response at first experiment. In the second efficacy assessment, no difference was observed in all the measurement items compared to the vehicle control unlike the in vitro results.
○ Safety evaluation of Enteromorpha prolifera extracts
For the safety evaluation of Enteromorpha prolifera extract, we observed the toxic assay methods of seven items such as the bacterial reverse mutagenicity study, chromosome aberration study, micronucleus study, single-dose toxicity study in rodent, 14-days repeated-dose toxicity study, 13-week repeated-dose toxicity study and single-dose toxicity study. As a results of the all assay items, the Enteromorpha prolifera extract didn't show any toxicity, and secured stability. Under this test condition, non-toxicity level of the Enteromorpha prolifera extract was judged to be 2,000 mg/kg/day in both sexes.
○ Nutrition design of the nourishing food for patients and healthy functionalf Food
For the nutrition design, the nourishing food for patients was made of powder type, and the healthy functional food was made of liquid type. As a result, we have derived a suitable patient balanced food formulations, which were made from Enterornorphi prolifera extract(1.6%), colostrum, and other raw material for powdered products. Also, we have derived a suitable liquid formulations, which were made from Enteromorpha prolifera extract(1.2g), colostrum-derived IgG(4.2mg), patented lactic acid bacteria(2 species), and other raw material for liquid products.
○ Prototype production and evaluation
For the prototype production of the nourishing food for patients, we produced the prototype after improvement of granule volume, fine particle quantity and flow ability. For the healthy functional food, we also produced the prototype by the characteristic study of fermented milk product, fermentation condition, storage stability, and culture condition according to added concentration of Enteromorpha prolifera extract. For the prototype evaluation, we have set a distribution period through sensory evaluation, and expiration date test, and also we have derived a final manufacturing process, SOP(standard of process) and product specification.
○ Development of material brand
For brand extension, we will apply our material brand to 'Himoon' product, the existing brand of Ildong Foodis Co., Ltd, and for this we have completed product concept board and design request.
