The purpose of this study is to estimate the demand for college students' private tutoring(PT). This study uses the Korean Education Employment Panel(KEEP) data to get the estimates of regression models for Limited Dependent Variables. In doing so, the study takes advantage of the marginal effect and standardized coefficients that are generally used to determine absolute and relative effects of each independent variable. The main findings are as follows:First, the college students' demand for PT is affected by individual characteristics such as gender, class attitude, and SAT score. Also college students are more likely to take PT lessons as the parents schooling increases. This results implies that the college students choose PT as a competitive strategy to get a decent job in the labor market. Second, the students' satisfactions with their universities are negatively associated with the demand for PT.From a policy perspective, it is recommended that higher education policy should be focused on the improvement of the quality of education which can meet and support the demand of industry and employers.
