This study examines the evaluation and development of intercultural competency of early childhood teachers. The specific research questions of this study were as follows.1. What is the level of intercultural competency of early childhood teachers?2. What is the tendency of the perceived difficulty of the teacher in terms of intercultural competency?This study used IDI (Intercultural Developmental Inventory) instrument to evaluate the level of intercultural competency of 59 early childhood teachers. The results showed that the teacher's intercultural competency level applies to the stage of denial, defense, and minimization. And the teachers felt handicaps in the area of communication, including language difficulties, when they interacted with multicultural children and their families.In conclusion, we need to provide teacher training for improving the level of teachers’ intercultural competency according to their stage of intercultural competency.
