1. The purpose of study The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of dietary protein supplement on physical characteristics(weight, % body fat, and resting heart rate), body girth factors(gtrth of chest, girth of upper arm, and girth of thigh), strength factors(dominant grip strength, non-dominant grip strength, and leg strength), and 1RM factors(arm curl, leg curl, and bench press) in 18 male college students were studied during 6-week dynamic weight training period. 2. Research method The testees comprised the men participated in Hallym University. The total subjects of 18 young ma1e(19-22 yr.) divided three group(A group : protein supplement of 2.0g/kg/day, B group : protein supplement of l.Og/kg/day, and C group : no supplement group). The dynamic weight training order were summarized as follow : ① bench press ② arm curl ③ leg curl ④ leg extension ⑤ squat ⑥ standing calf raise ⑦ bent-knee sit-ups ⑧triceps pull down ⑨ butter fly ⑩ reverse wrist curl ⑪ wrist curl The weight training method on present study tried on intensity of training and set composed by De lorme & Watkins. 3. The results The results on physique, body girth, muscular strength, and 1RM of arm curl, leg curl, bench press during dynamic weight training differenciate each groups. 1) The changes of physique A significant difference approved in the changes of the body weight within all of three groups after 6-week dynamic weight training period and approved in fhe Post-hoc. A significant difference approved in the changes of the % body fat within A group and B group after 6-week dynamic weight training period but did not approve in the Post-hoc of C-group. A significant difference approved in the changes of the rest heart rate within A group and B group after 6-week dynamic weight training period and approved in the Post-hoc. 2) The changes of body girth factors A significant difference approvcd in thc changes of the girth of chest within A group and B group after 6-week dynamic weight tiaining peritol and approved in the Post-hoc. A significant difference approved in the changes of the girth of upper anm within A group after 6-week dynamic weight training period and approved in the Post-hoc of A group. A significant difference approved in the changes of the girth of thigh within all of three groups after 6-week dynamic weight training period and approved in the Post-hoc of A group. 3) The changes of strength factors A significant" difference approved in the changes of the dominant grip strength within A group after 6-week dynamic weight training period and approved in the Post-hoc of A group. A significant difference approvecl in the changes of the non-dominant grip strength within A group and C group after 6-week dynamic weight training period but did not approve in thc Post-hoc of B-group. A significant difference approved in the changes of the leg-strength within A group after 6-week dynamic weight training period and approved in the Post-hoc of A group. 4) The changes of 1RMA A significant difference approved in the changes of the 1RM of arm curl within all of three groups after 6-week dynamic weight tnaining period and approved in the Post-hoc. A significant difference approved in the changes of the 1RM of leg curl within all of three groups after 6-week dynamic weight training period and approved in the Post-hoc of A group and B group. A significant difference approved in the changes of the 1RM of bench press within all of three groups after 6-week dynamic weight training period and approved in the Post-hoc. 4. The Conclusion According to the results of present study, a significant difference approved in the changes of body weight, resting heart rate, chest girth, 1RM of leg curl and bench press in A and B group. A significant difference approved in the changes of % body fat, upper arm girth, and grip strength(dominant) in A group.
