In some cases, the value of inventory even accounts for 25 to 75 percent of total assets according to the forms of enterprises and industries. Problems with inventory inevitably occur in the area of storage space and the ability of the supplier to provide supplies in a timely manner. Inventory affect the entire enterprise, so efficient management of the inventory is very important. In this thesis, the writer analyzed the Independent Demand and Dependent Demand in inventory system comparatively. So the purpose of this thesis is devoted to provide an optimal inventory control system for the enterprises through a comparative study on various types of inventory control system such as the Fixed Order Quantity·Fixed Order Period·ABC·MRP(material requirements planning) and JIT(just in time). In the thesis, FOQ and FOP inventory control systems are respectively introduced according to the changes of demand·lead time and measures of safety stock·reorder point. It is usually uneconomical to apply detailed inventory control analysis to all items carried in an inventory. Frequently, a small percentage of inventory items account for the most of the total inventory value. It is usually economical to purchase a large supply of low cost items and little control over them. Covertly, small quantities of expensive items are purchased and tight control is exercised over them. ABC inventory control system is treated by dividing inventories to three classes according to money usage's. Some organizations a finished product is assembled from several parts and subassemblies. Given a production plan for such an end item, the requirements for parts can be determined exactly. MRP inventory control system is a method which, starting with a forecast for the independent demand of a finished product, determines or derived demand for ① the kinds of components (material-parts-ingredients ②the exact quantities required ③ the time phase of the above orders to satisfy a production plan. It is difficult to keep manually the update status information necessary for the effective inventory without decreasing in service The JIT system is a different way of organizing for production of standard products. By decreasing inventory, improving quality, standardizing process and increasing worker's contribution, the JIM system improves productivity. Considering the above aspects, it may be concluded that the Fixed Order Quantity system is better effective than the Pained order period system has wider availability because of the Pained Order Period system has such advantage as complete safety stock and economy in order as well. However, its availability is so limited that it would cause fixation of property in stock. This study was restricted mostly on the theory, which will be necessary to be supported by empirical study. In the circumstance of enterprising, any one of the inventory system will be impossible to meet the complex need of inventory control completely. Therefore, it is necessary that multiple inventory controls will have to be available for the policy to supplement each other. The outcome of this thesis giver some insights for the inventory managers to select and computerize their inventory control system suitable for their production types, even though it may not truly reflect the problems of inventory control systems.
