Recently, almost worker have health problem as stress, drinking, smoking, wrong meal habit, lacking exercises etc. Accordingly, worksite nutrition program, education, counseling is necessary, but have lacking in Korea. So, this study was conducted to assess health status, nutrition status, nutrition education requirement of 361 workers in urban area in March, 1997. And, it was developed the worksite nutrition program from June, 1997 to May, 1998. The first, it was survey to worker's age, education, income and activity in LG food service's branch office, developed that a proper dietary intake questionnaire and measure method for workers, and developed nutrition index with simple method. To be demonstrated validation with ANOVA and Duncan's multiple range test, these were measured with the CAN program developed by the Korean Nutrition Society and Hyunmin system developed by the Korean Dietic Association. In addition to a correlation coefficient of worker's health age, health index, nutrition knowledge and nutrition intake status was measured by referring to gender, age, disease history, habits(exercise, foods, smoking, drinking...), stress, etc. The results were as follows ; Mean 1 day nutrient intake in this Workers was lacking mostly in constrast with RDA. In health status, there was a largest disease that Hepatitis carrire(42-45%) in this worker, specially anemia in woman, fattly liver in man. Nutrition knowledge was not significantly different woman and man. The percentage of correct answer was male 51.5%, female 53.2%. The Nutrition education contents to be required was in stress class (69%), exercise and nutrition (65%), family nutrition class (48%), and they had a positive view more than 65.4% in the nutrition education participation. The results of a dietary intake measure developed, other nutritions were not significantly different. But, CAN program was higher significantly in Carbohydrate. The results of a index method was that Hyunmin system was significantly lower in Carbohydrate and other nutritions were not significantly different. There was a significant difference in health age, health index and nutrition intake status. But, there was a strong correlation(p<0.001) between health age and health index. This program satisfaction was evaluated positively at 80%. As being developed the nutrition education & management program, it will be contributed to the health promotion, cost-effectiveness and cost-benefit in worksite.
