Care functions of family and the government programs are not fully cover the problems of the elderly that many older Koreans are suffering from poverty, poor health, and isolation. However, as the highly educated and economically stable people are getting older, more middle class elderly are increasing and looking for a safe and convenient housing exclusively built for older persons in silver town. In this context, this study investigates the middle ages' attitudes, 40s and 50s, toward the silver town housing. Samples are the church members of Kangnam Gu area. Specific questions were asked to identify their understanding, interests, and preferences of living in silver town. Collected data are to be used to predict the demand and plan for the silver town housing in the future. Findings of the study are as folows. First, more than a half respondents are actively saving their income in the bank for the old age and shows strong interests in silver town housing which will be common among the elderly in the future. Second, more than a half respondents prefer to rent the silver town housing paying about 100 million Won for a key money and 600,000 won for a monthly management cost. Third, more than a half respondents prefer 20-30 pyung housing unit, located near seoul in a country environment. They prefer to select the housing with more medical and personal services than the financial value of the property. With the findings of the study a few suggestions are made as follows. First, there should be a diverse design and financing program to meet the various needs of the older consumers of silver town housing. Second, there should a government support system to establish an Elder Housing Management Company and provide specialized professional services for older consumers. Third, there should be an effort of churches to build senior housing units for older congregations to provide safe and comfortable dwelling places so that they live together sharing their fellowship and caring each other in their old age.
