It is the actors that determine the value of a theatrical performance, though the play and the theater have experienced much change in various ways. Since the 1900s, many specialists-Stanislavsky, Mayerhole, Vacktanghov, Lee Strasberg, Grotowski and so on - have recognized the importance of the role of the actors and have had much interest in the training techniques for acting, hence various theories. However, in acting, the false belief is wide spread; good looks and talent will be enough for acting. As a result, it is often the case that professional education for acting is neglected Acting is a sort of technique which is based on speech and body language. More than anything else, the most important and essential thing in acting is speech. Although many books concerning acting deal with breathing, vocalization and speech, they lack system. In acting, the self is the main subject of the expression. Therefore, acting requires the constant self-discipline.
