Polstyrene(PS)/polymetylmetacrylate(PMMA) 블렌드계의 상용화제로서 styrene과 maleic anhydride(MAH)를 라디칼 공중합하여 poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride)(P-SMA) 6종을 합성하였다. 합성한 P-SMA 및 시판 상용화제 3종(SMA, BONDINE, IGETABOND)을 PS/PMMA 수지와 용액 블렌딩하여 필름을 제조하고 필름의 표면상태를 관찰하였다. 또한 블렌드물을 인쇄지용 코팅제로 적용하여 코팅한 인쇄지 도막의 각종 제반물성을 조사하였다. 합성한 P-SMA 공중합체중의 MAH 조성은 8.0-26.0 wt%로 정량되었고, P-SMA8의 유리전이온도(Tg)는 84.6℃였다. 그리고 6종의 P-SMA의 중량평균분자량(Mw)은 26,000-138,000의 범위로 조사되었다. 또한 합성한 P-SMA는 시판 상용화제 보다 PS/PMMA(80/20) 블렌드계에 적용하여 생성된 Film의 표면상태를 분석하였을 때, 수지의 입자 크기가 작고 균일할 뿐만 아니라 투명성도 우수하게 관찰되었다. 한편, PS/상용화제/PMMA(80/2-8/2O)계 블렌드물을 인쇄지에 코팅하여 생성된 도막의 몰폴로지를 관찰한 결과, P-500>BONDINE>IGETABOND>SMA>P-SMA의 순서로 PMMA domain의 크기가 감소하였다. 또한 P-SMA를 5 wt% 블렌드계에 적용하였을 경우의 domain 크기는 P-SMA20>P-SMA15>P-SMA8로 감소하였다. 그리고 코팅된 인쇄지 도막의 시간에 따른 접촉각 시험 결과, 즉 내수성은 P-500

The composition of MAH in synthesized P-SMA was quntized in the range of 8-26 wt%, and the glass transition temperature(Tg) of P-SMA8 appeared at 84.6℃. The weight average molecular weight(Mw) of P-SMA was investigated from 26,000 to 138,OOO. When the surface of the film by PS/P-SMA/ PMMA blend system were compared with that of the film by PS/compatibilizer (on sale)/PMMA blend system, the former blend system was observed to both small the particle size and more the transparency rather than the latter blend system.
