The results are as follows. 1. The basic measure items 1) The pH values, one of the basic measure items, showed no statistically significant variation in accordance with the facilities, seasons, and number of persons utilizing the facility, and were within the tolerance limit. However, the site A showed the highest value of 8.6 2) The turbidity, one of the basic measure items, showed no statistically significant variation in accordance with the facilities, seasons, and number of persons utilizing the facility, and were within the tolerance limit. The highest value was 1.4 NTU. 3) The KMnO_(4) demand, one of the basic measure items, showed no statistically significant variation in accordance with the facilities, seasons, and number of persons utilizing the facility, and were within the tolerance limit. The highest value was 7.4mg/ℓ. 4) The residual chlorine, one of the basic measure items, showed no statistically significant variation in accordance with the facilities, seasons, and number of persons utilizing the facility, and were within the tolerance limit. However, site D showed the highest value of 1.0mg/ℓ 5) The Mesophilic Bacteria, one of the basic measure items, showed no statistically significant variation in accordance with the facilities, seasons, and number of persons utilizing the facility, and were within the tolerance limit. 6) The Coliform Bacteria, one of the basic measure item, was not identified. 2. The composition items of Trihalomethane 1) The total trihalomethane showed no statistically significant variance in accordance with the factors such as facilities, seasons, and number of persons utilizing the facility. At site C, the value showed 110.7㎍/ℓ in September, and at site D the values showed 140.7㎍/ℓ and 138.0㎍/ℓ in April and September respectively, which exceed the tolerance limit. 2) Chloroform showed no statistically significant variance in accordance with the factors such as facilities, seasons, and number of persons utilizing the facility At site C, the value showed 103.7㎍/ℓ in September, and at site D the values showed 136.3㎍/ℓ and 132.1㎍/ℓ in April and September respectively, which exceed the tolerance limit. 3) Bromodichloromethane showed statistically significant variance in accordance with the factors such as facilities, seasons, and number of persons utilizing the facility, and showed significant variance in accordance with the factors such as management policy characteristics of the facilities, and seasons. 4) Dibromochloromethane showed no statistically significant variance in accordance with the factors such as facilities, seasons, and number of persons utilizing the facility, however, the values exceeded the tolerance limit of the Basic Measure Items. 5) Bromoform showed statistically significant variance in accordance with the factors such as facilities, seasons, and number of persons utilizing the facility, and showed significant variance in accordance with the factors such as management policy characteristics of the facilities, and number of persons utilizing the facility. 3. Suggestions for improvement of water quality of swimming pools; 1) To minimize the formation of the total trihalomethane, it is suggested that the chlorine demand should be calculated, and the injection weight of Chlorine should be controlled in order to maintain the concentration of the residual Chlorine between 0.2mg/ℓ - 0.3mg/ℓ. 2) The KMnO_(4) demand showed relatively higher values in this study, therefore, it is suggested that the management standards of indoor swimming pools should be enhanced, and, in certain pools where recycled water is being used, more strict water treatment measure should be taken, rather than at the water treatment process. 3) The formation of total Trihalomethane increases in accordance with the proportion of recycled water usage increases. To control its formation, proper treatment measures for the organic composition in the swimming water should be taken, in precedence of the Chlorine injection weight control. 4) As the concentration of the Trihalomethane showed statistically significant variance, the standards of sanitization of swimming water should be readjusted according to the management policy, seasons, and number of persons utilizing the facility. 5) The introduction of the Ozone treatment system which is recommended by the Water Treatment Plants, and the Bio-Filtration to treat organic compounds in water, should be considered. 6) Technical Standards to secure the optimal water quality should be set up as a guide line, by investigating and analyzing the yearly data of swimming pools on the basis of various factors of treatment for various water quality states.
